Town Village Sterling Heights Reviews

My name is Theresa Kamensky. I have lived at Town Village of Sterling Heights for almost two years. It is my pleasure to write a review of my experiences here. It is challenging to focus on only one aspect of life from the outstanding menu, served by kind, diligent servers, to the hardworking maintenance staff, to the extensive activity program, called Life Enrichment, that provides stimulation to both the mind and body. Our Secretarial staff is the glue that maintains order with about 250 residents. The Motto",It is like home, t IS home. truly reflects life here.

From the moment my mom selected Town Village of Sterling Heights, I new it was a place where both comfort and independence thrived. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of community that makes every resident feel valued and supported. The staff is exceptional - always friendly, compassionate, and attentive to the needs of the residents. They go above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels at home, while also respecting the independence that makes this community so special. Whether it's the daily activities, personalized care, or just a friendly chat, they take the time to connect with each individual. Most importantly is that the facility is kept extremely clean and the food delicious! For anyone considering senior independent living, please consider Town Village of Sterling Heights. The sales people tell you whatever you want to hear to get you in the door. They knew the degree of my moms dementia and told me memory care was not the place until she was a harm to herself or others. They make it sound like they have “assisted living “ by the a la carte services that they offer. They do not! The hospital wouldn’t even discharge her to the facility after so many falls bc they are not classified as assisted living. There were times I found my mother in her bathroom on the floor and not know how long she had been there. Food was great. Activities are available if your senior knows the dates and times and are motivated to go themselves but there’s no prompting for interaction.

Moving your parent out of their home, is never an easy. Especially, when one parent passes away. You then start the search for a community where they may find friends of their own era and activities to fill their day - to ease the grieving and [new] alone time. I cannot give enough kudos to the team at Town Village - they have been exceptional for our family! We moved my dad into Town Village at the height of COVID in spring of 2020. We selected an apartment through a video tour online (as in person tours were closed) - they wrote my dad's name on the window of the apartment - so when we drove by we could see his windows from the parking lot. Every single detail was not missed - they went above and beyond. Sheri is exceptional --- she is always open and communicates regularly with families on updates and happenings. She deserves a 10-star rating! Town Village is the place my dad calls home, and he loves it! He has made friends, enjoys the ability to walk outside his apartment and meet up with other residents for conversation - without having to go outside! Which is really great in the winter months. I highly recommend this community! It is CLEAN, WELL-DECORATED (Especially at the Holidays!), KIND STAFF, and the AMENITIES ARE OUTSTANDING!
