5918 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503

Overview

Located in the panhandle of Florida, our senior community has the tranquil feel of a bed and breakfast. We also have a bustling activities program, meaning there is always something to take part in. You’ll instantly feel right at home! There is no shortage of social opportunities at The Waterford at Carpenter’s Creek! One resident favorite is playing bingo for Country Store cash. Once a month the residents can use their winnings to shop at the Country Store and purchase items like toiletries and snacks.

You can take advantage of Pensacola’s year-round warm weather by enjoying a glass of iced tea with a friend on our beautiful decks overlooking Carpenter’s Creek or in the landscaped courtyard complete with a gazebo! Our 24-hour team is always available to lend a helping hand. Leave the cooking to us and enjoy three restaurant-style meals each day. Housekeeping and laundry services, newspaper delivery, transportation to medical appointments and an on-site salon are also available. For residents who don’t want to drive, religious services are frequently held in our beautiful on-site chapel. Apartments are equipped with safety features like smoke alarms, sprinkler systems and emergency call buttons. All doors in the community are wide to accommodate our residents with wheelchairs or scooters.

My grandmother has lived in 3 assisted livings in different states in the US and this one has been without a doubt the most concerning. It is never fun to relocate unless it is necessary - such as the family moving to a new state - but after months of waiting for Waterford to improve conditions we will now be making the in state move to another facility. Management, food quality, forgotten meals, having to deduce my grandmother was having stroke symptoms after her, my aunt and I requested evaluations and insisted she go to hospital. She did in fact have a stroke. Shower days being missed/changed without notification, transportation - weeks-months without it regularly, lack of activities and outings, communication and reliability are just some of the biggest concerns. We have had several events in each category. Too many to possibly type out individually, but enough to justify complaints with the AHCA. Administratively we have experienced surprise undiscussed charges that were more than 30% of her agreed to regular rate. Without any notice or discussion of change in care or change in need. Had we not noticed would have been an extra $1500/month auto drafted from her account. I can’t imagine how many times this has happened to residents without their knowledge. Individually some staff and individual caregivers have been extremely kind and helpful. I am so grateful for those who have put in the effort. Unfortunately, the overall the experience has still been unorganized, negligent and at times unsafe. I am fortunate my grandmother is cognitive, social, communicative and aware. I am fortunate to live nearby. I could not imagine trusting this facility with the care of anyone who was not able to advocate for themselves. Nor would I recommend Waterford to anyone.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my brother’s 91st birthday here! It is a very special place! Everyone is kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful. The food was delicious with so many choices! Top Notch !!!

A horrible experience. Certain staff were extremely rude to my mother. It’s an uncaring and unclean environment. The hallway smells of stale urine. Carpets are extremely old and worn. I joined her for lunch one day and saw a roach crawl across the table. I wouldn’t put my dog to be cared for in this place. Shame on them the way I witnessed how they treated their residents. Moved mom out asap

I am very impressed with The Waterford at Carpenter’s Creek. The Administration there are very professional and also very friendly with great personalities! The Staff are caring and sweet. My parents feel safe and comfortable in their apartment. They like that they can move around the facility and also participate in the activities that are provided for the residents! There are things that could be improved, but I feel that’s minor compared to all the wonderful things that are going well! Here’s a picture of my parents COL (Ret) Allan Ford and Lisbeth Ford, with their family, in the common area at Carpenter’s Creek!
