My mother is a resident of The Generations memory care unit. She has been very well cared for over a year and a half. I am so grateful for the staff and all that they do to ensure her safety and care! My feeling is that as a family goes through the process of dementia and Alzheimer's, along with various other conditions with their loved one, The Peaks does their best! We have gone through a few different Directors but along the way Hilda has always been there for our family. Long before taking over as Director she began a wonderful and caring relationship with my mom. She is always in touch with my mother’s needs and takes the time to reach out whenever it is needed. I feel that a big part of our success with my mother’s care is being flexible and reactive in conjunction with the caregivers at this facility. We have brought in a 3rd party during a time when our loved one’s care required one on one and overnight care that was more than is expected of the staff. The staff has a very difficult job balancing each resident’s care and the whole of the community daily. Being responsible and respectful that the caregivers cannot neglect others because our needs may change during the course of my mom’s condition is important to recognize. I believe that if you build a strong relationship with all the members of your loved one’s care team you will find that your loved one will receive the proper care for their individual needs. As for daily activities I am constantly amazed at all the wonderful opportunities my mother has to enjoy life with musical groups, crafts, and visits to local restaurants with all the loving staff! I visit often and my mom is always involved with some fun activity. I would highly recommend The Peaks Generations unit for their loved ones care.

Mom and Dad have lived at the Peaks for 5 years, moving in after Mom’s initial stroke recovery. It was in early 2020, at the height of the COVID restrictions, where most facilities were saying no to us and closing up to new residents. The Peaks said yes, and have been saying yes ever since. Our family has been very grateful. The caregivers and staff there are topnotch. The current administration and staff are the best group I have seen in the 5 years. They have not only cared for my parents, they have also loved them.

Making the decision to move a parent to Memory Care is extremely hard. There are so many emotions that you as their caregiver are trying to manage. As soon as I walked in to The Peaks Memory Care, I knew the team would care for my Mom with love and respect. Due to my mother’s quick health deterioration, I spent many hours, days and late nights at The Peaks. I got to see all hours and can say that the caregivers are always present, aware and going from one person’s need to person’s need seamlessly. I never heard complaining, I only heard, “give me a minute and I’ll come help.” The caregivers always gave me so much support, detail on my Mom and love. My Mom passed during her time at The Peaks. I’ll miss seeing the caregivers on a frequent basis because they became an extension of my Mom’s family.
