The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living

My mother was a resident at the Oaks and it was a wonderful experience. The staff is very caring and responsive to both residents and family. The facility is very clean and the food is great. Avis, the activities director was awesome. She always came up with amazing outings, celebrations and parties. She really made it fun for the residents and gave them events to look forward to. I highly recommend the Oaks.

Management changed 3 times in the 6 months I lived there. They were minimally responsive to questions. Items I signed a lease with were changed such as room change fee went from $0 to $1000. Bedridden residents were fed about an hour after the kitchen had served everyone else & cleaned the kitchen. There was a delivery fee per meal. The fire alarm went off 4 times for a minimum of 5 minutes with no explanation from management. The A/C registers smelled of vinegar signaling mold issues. Water pressure was weak. WiFi signal was weak & dropped several times a day everyday. Every thunderstorm brought power surges & power outages. At least 68% humidity in apartment with dehumidifier turned on.

The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living is a wonderful community. The team is fantastic, and the building looks beautifully remodeled, clean, and truly homey. The atmosphere was full and buzzing when I visited, which speaks volumes about how engaged and active the residents are!! It was also really nice meeting Oksana — she was so kind and welcoming, and she clearly cares about the families she works with. If you’re looking for independent living for your loved one, The Oaks is a great choice.

I LOVE the Oaks. I have been in senior living communities all over Texas and this place is special. The residents are always doing something cool and fun. The staff are all smiles and I love working with Rachel, she is a pleasure.
