The Delaney at Georgetown Village

My parents moved to the independent living side of The Delaney in 2018. My dad passed away in 2020, and my mom continued living independently there until recently, when she transitioned first to assisted living and then to memory care. Throughout each stage, the staff at The Delaney took excellent care of my mom. She was at the highest level of care in assisted living, and shortly after moving to memory care, she needed hospice care. The Delaney staff who cared for her along with the hospice staff during her final week were more than caring—they made sure her needs were met while treating her with compassion, dignity, and respect. I especially want to recognize Bobbie, the med tech, who gently stroked my mom’s hair after administering her medication, and Charles, who took the utmost care when assisting Mom. Those thoughtful gestures meant so much to our family. We also recently held my mom’s memorial service at The Delaney, and one of the staff members, Rob Sterk, provided a Christian service for our family. That was truly a step above and beyond, and it meant so much to us. We wanted a place where our parents could age in place, and that is exactly what The Delaney provided. It gave us peace of mind knowing they were in a safe environment with engaging activities and caring support. We are grateful for the care, kindness, and respect shown to our family.

What sets The Delaney apart from other facilities is the sense of community and family they have. You "feel" it as soon as you walk in the door. Remember the saying that it takes a village to raise a child. Well it also takes a village to aid seniors age with dignity. That's what The Delaney has. Every facility's shell is made up of brick and mortar. Every facility will have events for residents. When you dig a little below the surface, that's where you'll see how The Delaney's staff transforms their facility into a home. They create the environment that helps your loved one thrive. The actions of the staff, every single day, show a deep level of commitment toward maintaining a strong atmosphere of community and caring. The Delaney also has a well coordinated, integrated care model designed for flexibility. Not everyone needs the same level of service and care and The Delaney delivers by offering whatever level of service you need. Highly recommend this facility.

I have the privilege of entertaining at The Delaney and I've been extremely impressed with the staff and environment there. The residents are full of fun and exude a "joyous" feeling. The place itself is beautiful, but I particularly love the interaction the staff has with the residents. They're fun and willing, frequently dancing with residents during our show and engaging with everyone. The dining staff goes out of its way to be sure the table is set the way that group wants it. And Liz, the Engagement Director, is constantly finding new ways to entertain her troops. This seems to me to be a "happy place" - just the place I'd like to go when I'm ready!

I’ve been playing music events at The Delaney for over 2 years now. The residents are a great group of folks who really enjoy the events. The staff is great and very attentive and engaging to both the residents and the artists. It’s a lovely senior living residence and I hope I get to play there for many years to come!
