My mom stayed here briefly as the family navigated how to make her terminal illness as comfortable as possible. We threw her an early Thanksgiving dinner and The Oaks team was so incredibly accommodating: private dining space furnished with plates, cutlery, and cups. Then checked on us multiple times as our celebration continued, and even helped us clear the mess afterwards. I know I speak for my entire family when I say we are eternally grateful to The Oaks for their human-centric approach!

When I arrived at The Oaks, I had spent a year in and out of both Blodgett and Butterworth Hospitals, and I had lost half my body weight and felt like I was at deaths door. In August of 2024 I weighed 168 lbs by this August when I got to The Oaks, I weighed 84lbs and could not keep any food down, I was so weak I could barely get out of bed. Don't ask me to explain how they were able help me when the 2 major hospitals couldn't. I would recommend The Oaks to anyone that need nursing care

I came here for rehab after a fall with broken bones. I have been so impressed by: The beautiful facility, clean, modern and well maintained, good sized rooms with nice modern bathrooms, the staff are warm and wonderful, I feel very well cared for, the food is excellent! I was so impressed at the beginning of my stay, the chef came to visit me to discuss any special dietery needs but also my food preferences, favorite meal, favorite beverages. Another member of the kitchen staff came to see me to discuss the next days menu, offering to substitute anything if there was something I didn't care for. In the dining room, meals are served individually and personalized to my preferences. That goes beyond my expectations and everything has been delicious. There are many planned activities if you wish to participate.,Physical occupational snd other specialty therapists are available for your needs and my care has been kind, caring and effective.i have been assisted in making a care plan and setting goals for m health and capabilities. I came for a short term rehab stay but am looking into their linger teem options. I highly recommend the Oakes of Byron center to anyone no matter what level of care youneed.

NEVER BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO LIVE. If I could give them 0 stars I would. The level of INCOMPETENCE from this facility baffles me. I am in nursing myself, and my sweet sweet dad was HEAVILY neglected by this facility. He was there for an extended need for some therapy after a spinal surgery. His right leg and arm were affected, and his right hand did not work properly. He had an ileostomy bag, that he needed assistance with. The nursing home told my dad that "He could do it himself" and would hand him a bucket to empty his bag. We later found him with a bucket of his own poop sitting in his lap because he is on heavy narcotics that make him sleepy (which if they were real nurses they should know that) and someone should have been there to assist him. He would have his call light on while we were there and no one would come to answer, it got to the point we had to walk and find an employee BECAUSE NO ONE WAS EVEN IN HIS WING!!!! As a healthcare professional myself this is absolutely disgusting. He was brought into emergency Monday morning after showing symptoms of sepsis. He went into septic shock, and is now fighting for his life. When he was taken into emergency they found poop going to his back where his incisions were leading to a staph infection. THIS NURSING FACILITY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!
