We have been very pleased with the Oaks. It has been a great option for our family member who was living a very isolated existence at home.

The Oaks at Brownsburg is a beautiful community. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy. The meals are delicious, and they offer housekeeping to help the residents have more time for things they enjoy.

They don't protect residents from financial abuse from their own staff. The cleaning lady , Ana, guilted my mom into lending her money not once but twice. Several thousand dollars. My mom was lending Ana the rent money my mom needed to live there herself. Ana asked over and over and gave multiple sob stories about how she was going to lose her apartment and couldn't buy groceries. She then tried to get my mom to sign on a 12 thousand dollar car loan for Ana's husband. So Ana and her husband are both working and feel the need to borrow from my elderly mom who is on a very tight, fixed income. They used story after story to pressure my mom into saying yes. Then Ana stole the loan agreement she had signed, from my mom's room, when my mom was in the hospital. We told the office what happened, even provoded written proof with Ana's signature. Ana didnt know we still had proof that she missed when going through my mom's things, but we did. They did absolutely nothing!!! ANA STILL WORKS THERE!! SAW HER A FEW DAYS AGO. I would bet money my mom is not the only one Ana did this to. Zero reason a staff member should ever ask to borrow money from residents. Residents should not feel peessured, guited or even be asked about money. Totally unacceptable! That is financial abuse. Watch your wallet, watch out for your loved ones. They are not financially safe here.
