The Montevista at Coronado

While our home is being repaired, I needed a safe, mobility-friendly place nearby for my 87-year-old mom — and Montevista has been absolutely wonderful. It feels like a cruise or permanent vacation! Every day, residents receive an activity sheet and chef’s specials right at their door — such a thoughtful touch. What we love: — The food is very good (Mom says it’s better than top downtown hotels). — The staff are warm, welcoming, and remember every resident by name. — The maintenance team goes above and beyond — installing grab bars, assembling furniture, hanging pictures, and even helping with small tasks. — Security is excellent — they responded instantly when Mom accidentally pressed her alarm on her first night. — Housekeeping is top-notch. Her weekly housekeeper is friendly and attentive — she even noticed we use detergent for sensitive skin and keeps Mom’s sheets and towels separate to make sure the right detergent is used. — Activities for every interest: bingo, live music, karaoke, exercise classes, pool, and social hours with themed events and outings to the symphony, restaurants, and museums. — The Director truly listens to residents and makes improvements based on feedback. The new assisted living and memory care areas are beautiful, complete with a movie theater. The grounds are immaculate, and daily living is easy — trash pickup at the door, housekeeping, meals and utilities included, transportation provided. Montevista has given my mom a sense of comfort, safety, and belonging in a community she truly loves. It’s everything we hoped for — and more.

Our father is a resident at Montevista and we couldn't be happier because he is so well taken care of. Residents are encouraged to come to the dining room for meals and there are so many options for dining including a la carte items. There are many activities such as daily physical training, Bingo, Book Club, Dance class, Scrabble, Poker night, a Pool/billiards group, Karaoke- just to name a FEW! There is transportation provided for appointments and shopping. They also have excursions to restaurants, theater and museums. I have attended a play given bt their Drama Club, the Book Club and the Scrabble group and enjoyed them. I feel that the employees are attentive to the residents needs. The upcoming holidays looks as if it will be special. Kudos to the employees as they were a pleasure to work with during the recent celebration for our father's 95th birthday! Montevista is the "Cheers" of Independent living because when we call, we feel assured that they know us and our father. It has been a blessing for our father after the loss of our mother and for us.

My mother in law (91) moved in almost a month ago and she is thriving. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her so happy. The rooms are perfect size and there is a beautiful view of the city. This place is outstanding and has so many activities, she’s never bored and has made several friends. The staff is amazing and so helpful, she just loves them. If I could rate Monte Vista 10 stars, I would.

MonteVista at Coronado have truly exceeded our expectations. The service is impeccable, and the chef consistently impresses with a diverse and evolving menu of delicious dishes. The property itself is a haven of comfort and safety, meticulously maintained to ensure residents' well-being. There are abundant opportunities for socializing amid an array of social activities and events. Even before an apartment became available, my mother-in-law was treated with great warmth and care while awaiting her opportunity to move in. She has been residing there for a few months now and has been full of praise for her new home, especially enjoying the stunning mountain views. We would highly recommend MonteVista.
