The Moments

I recently enjoyed a tour of the Moments of Lakeville, a beautiful, innovative memory care facility. The owner, Elizabeth Wright, had a vision for a unique place where elders could find peace and their families could feel their loved ones were surrounded with loving care, and it’s clear that her vision is being carried out here. From the moment you enter, you find yourself in a sanctuary, filled with light, plants, and amazing art and artifacts. The building has a variety of quiet nooks and lively gathering places, organized and thoughtfully designed to help residents navigate their surroundings and feel at home. The craftsmanship of the building, much of which was detailed by Elizabeth’s husband Amit, is impressive, and the place feels like a high-end home rather than a facility. The beautifully landscaped grounds offer the opportunity for residents and families to be surrounded by the peace of nature, with many gardens, a koi pond, and a park with whimsical sculptures. The staff were friendly and professional, and I was quite impressed by the thoughtful amenities provided for the staff, to provide care for those who offer care to the residents. I would highly recommend this amazing place as an option for any family seeking a comfortable place for a family member in need of memory care.

A few days ago I toured The Moments Memory Care Facility in Lakeville, MN while looking around for local options in case my mother-in-law finds herself needing a higher level of care than she does now or that we could provide ourselves. This facility stood out from other facilities I've seen in that it had the feel of a high-end residential complex rather than a medical institution. What makes this even more impressive is that the facility accomplishes this while implementing "best practices" for memory care such as 24-7 nurse staffing, a layout and staff that fosters the residents' community involvement to keep them from isolating themselves, and on-site medical and non-medical services. Much of this probably stems from the way in which the architect designed the building in that there are multiple inviting community recreation spaces, high-end restaurant-like spaces, and multiple outside spaces that residents and visitors can access. Additionally, there is a harder-to-quantify "feel" due to the manner in which the staff engages with the residents one-on-one as people, rather than as patients like I've seen in other eldercare facilities. Finally, the building and the grounds themselves are both immaculate and beautiful, with design elements that not only have practical purposes , but also seem to have been designed with a sense of fun in mind. The result is a community that I would recomend to anyone. This would be my first choice for my mother-in-law (or anyone else) who finds themselves in need of more care than they can get in a conventional residential situation.

I was able to tour The Moments with Elizabeth the owner and the thought and care put into this place is amazing. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. This is definitely at the top of my list for a potential place for my mother when she is in need of care. Impressed beyond belief!!

The way they effortlessly create a sense of family is truly heartwarming from resident to staff and back again. The attention to detail at The Moments is unparalleled, particularly when it comes to long-term memory care. Every aspect of the remarkable property has been meticulously considered, and I found solace in the idea that as my own father who is starting to face memory loss, that there is no place on earth I would prefer for him to be. One of my favorite features is the themed corridors that cleverly replicate the ambiance of a cozy home with personalized front door for the residents. The thoughtful incorporation of incredible rock and roll hall of fame memorabilia, harking back to "back in the day,” showcases the immense care put into every aspect of The Moments invoking delightful nostalgia. The staff at The Moments exude an unparalleled level of hospitality and genuine friendliness that is truly extraordinary. Their unwavering commitment to the well-being of every resident is evident in every interaction, leaving no doubt in my mind that my beloved family member would be in the best hands possible. The team at The Moments embodies the very essence of compassion and dedication. Not to mention the top quality culinary staff creating delicious and nutritious menus, that is rare to find indeed. Furthermore, beyond their exceptional care for residents, The Moments demonstrates their commitment to creating a remarkable environment through their investment in staff and employee retention. I have never witnessed such thoughtful considerations for staff amenities, including a spa, beauty salon room, state-of-the-art workout center for staff and team, an incredible event center located outside in the corridor and even an adult day care facility for those who may need a "Moment" for themselves. This level of care for the entire community is truly incredible and showcases The Moments' dedication to taking care of everyone involved. The Moments and everyone who played a part in bringing this community to life have now found a special place in my heart.
