The Kenwood by Senior Star

So many wonderful things about the Kenwood Star! I have been so impressed with the programming offered . It is clear that they put a lot of thought and effort into creating a vibrant, engaging environment for residents. In particular, outings, speakers education morning exercise classes, movies have been a highlight. It is wonderful to see so many opportunities for socializing/staying active/learning new things. The activities staff is incredibly enthusiastic/organized/welcoming, and they truly go the extra mile to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Ashley, a wonderful nurse who has been visiting me regularly at The Kenwood by Senior Star since my recent surgery, has been an absolute star in her own right. She is clearly experienced and skilled—on one visit she calmly helped us turn what looked like a small pharmacy on our counter into a simple, medication plan, saving us from confusion and me from needing a second cup of coffee just to sort pills. On each visit, she checked the surgical site, explained what normal healing should look like, and gently reassured us that we didn’t need to call 911 every time something itched, twitched, or changed color. More than anything, Ashley is wonderfully warmhearted; she treats me as a person, not a chart, and somehow turns medical check‑ins into friendly visits where we end up smiling almost as much as we’re learning. She shows up when she says she will, never makes us feel rushed, and brings just enough humor to make the less glamorous parts of recovery a little easier to face—if laughter is good medicine, then Ashley is clearly part of the treatment team. In a community that prides itself on strong on‑site nursing and medical support, Ashley exemplifies the best of what The Kenwood by Senior Star and Buckeye Senior Rehab offers its residents and their families, and we are genuinely grateful (and occasionally happily amused) to have her on our side

4 months ago my parents moved into independent living. Although they didn't want to leave their house, we all knew it was no longer the right fit for them. They now wonder why they waited so long. They love their new life. They have made friends, love having all the amenities, and were so happy not to have to deal with all this things the winter weather threw at us this year. Our experience has been nothing but positive. The staff is super friendly, and the residents went out of their way to befriend my parents. The whole experience has been like a mini-fountain of youth. New experiences and new people have made each day richer for them. We had looked at a number of other facilities that offered a spectrum of living options, and I am so glad my parents found their way here. Thank you Lauren for helping them to find the right unit for them.

The memory care director Dawn is great when it comes to voicing any concerns. She’s very easy to talk to and doesn’t act like it’s a burden to have a concern. Has definitely made communication 110x easier and love working with her :)
