The residents were LOVELY! The background and grounds are pretty. We visited our family here. There were a few standout members of the staff for sure! However they really need to work on the food they serve these people. Cold, tasteless, and uninspired. The guest suite was nice and clean. The pool could use a good cleaning and the exterior lights by the elevators need replacing. Maybe the guy reading the paper in the storage room could find some time for repairs... *cute library and game areas though.

I stayed for rehab and recovery at old hwaii kai run by holiday. So impressed by staff and food that I chose the new owners called the Ivy. I only needed two weeks for respite. I sill had to pay a $6000 community fee plus the two week renta. I became ill before moving in and notified the staff that I would not be occupying the studio. I was in er or recovering from a fall the entire 2 weeks. Each day I called that I was not in unit . I ate one dinner before moving in date with a guest pd $15 thus was only meal I ate it was awful!!. None of the ph messages I left for staff were ever returned. . No one has Contacted me Or returned a phone message. Total for two weeks rental and community fee totaled out of pocket $10,000. I can't afford this for never using the facility. Who in city or state is overseeing this business financial policy and complaints . Seniors beware.. they are a money making busness not a caring retirement comminty. Honolulu needs to do better for residents.. some agency should be aware and fielding the issues and complaints. My intent was to go there when I sold my house. No more. I plan on looking to mainland options, I hear are much better. The Ivy is a loverly setting and apartments. It is a shame the operation is so poorly buiness and fairly run.to make clients feel satsfied with treatment. I had previous experience with old owners so something to compare it to. I honestly would like them to do better with food and fair caring treatment and succeed.i hope they care and hear feedback.

We had the pleasure of visiting our resident cousin and stayed in a guest cottage. The best word to describe The Ivy is “Wonderful.” The entire facility is clean, comfortable, safe, and beautiful. We especially enjoyed the delicious meals there. We toured the entire facility and hope we’ll be able move there when the time is right. Something we discuss often. Those living at The Ivy are so fortunate! What a wonderful life! I also have to mention the efficient and friendly staff members, and a special note about the residents there. We made so many friends in such a short time. Again, wonderful! ❣️

Management is not trained in humans services nor are any patterns of previous activity of professionalism displayed. Manuals of of services provided do not exist. Once committed to occupancy and moved in slow realization of expected pleasure of occupancy fades and disappointment builds to unbelievable levels. Reputation and moral will eventually catch-up and this establishment will be judged undesirable for retirees if not already. Lack of options for alternative arrangements leaves many residents unable to manage financially or otherwise arrangements. Life’s burdens become more complicated and less manageable. Education will not teach humans compassion and parents & elders seem uninterested or concerned. Love will be outlawed before we know it, the heart will become less something with feelings towards others or themselves and life will be meaningless. Human’s will become the animals they pretended not to be. It’s now the person, eat person! Dogs no longer eat dogs!
