My wife and I began our interest in the Glen at Heather Farm about 3 years ago when we first submitted our pre-construction deposit. We were so glad we did! Since then, we've been continuously informed of the Glen's progress through a number of in-person presentations and many on-line up-dates. We cannot tell you how much we appreciated this! We will be making our move to the Glen after 34 years at our current address. Earlier on, we had considered different types of senior communities in or around the Walnut Creek area, such as the Rossmoor development. But we realized if we made that decision, after a few years we would probably need to make yet another move. The Glen seemed just right for us. As recommended by the staff who always encouraged us to make the most informed decisions possible, we toured its sister property, Stoneridge Creek in Pleasanton. We thought the grounds were beautiful, but the property was, perhaps a little large for us. We also looked at much smaller communities but felt they didn't provide enough open space to offer a more "intimate resort" feel. The artist's renderings and variety of apartment floor plans convinced us that the Glen would be just right. Also having the property located within vibrant Walnut Creek and within walking distance of Heather Farm itself were huge added incentives. We would like to say more about the wonderful Glen folks who we heard from or met with on many occasions. Barbara Gilbert, the Glen's Director of Marketing is one. Her presentations have been excellent. Then there is Tracy Gimbel who is our Residency Counselor. One of a kind! Not only is she extremely experienced and knowledgeable in her role, but just as important, she has the patience of a saint and is equally supportive. We consider her a friend.

Having concluded that it was time to consider our living and long-term care arrangements after over 50 years in the same home in Walnut Creek, we decided to place a pre-construction deposit on a unit at The Glen at Heather Farm, joining a lengthy waiting list of prospective residents. We were attracted by the prime and scenic location not far from downtown Walnut Creek, the extensive list of The Glen’s amenities, and its proximity to both our family and our current medical professionals. A visit to the developer’s sister property in Pleasanton, already in operation for several years, provided assurance that the build-out would be completed to a very high standard, and the enterprise would be well-managed. In the months following our deposit, our connection to the future community was deepened by a steady stream of periodic updates about the project. Finally, “our number came up” (but in a good way!) and we embarked on the home reservation process. We came into our meeting with a list of priorities, desires and concerns. The active listening and cogent, utterly transparent responses of our residency counselor were exceptional; and her suggestions and advice, invaluable. We already feel genuine caring for our satisfaction and well-being. The entire experience rates an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10, setting a standard that we are comfortable will be matched by the experience of living at The Glen once we move in. Kudos and thank you!

We are really looking forward to joining the community at the Glen. It will undoubtedly be gorgeous if their sister community Stoneridge Creek and the artist renderings are any indication. The orientation, reservation and home selection process has been handled efficiently and professionally by everyone on the team. Trey Bourne gives a dynamic orientation, answering sometimes difficult questions frankly and with empathy and explaining details and options clearly. Mariza Rocha patiently led us through the home selection process and by the time we were finished we felt we had made the best and most informed choices possible. While leaving our beautiful home will be difficult when the time comes, this seems like an elegant transition.

Several years ago my husband and I decided we wanted to look into continuing care retirement communities so that, when we felt ready, we would be prepared. We investigated quite a few, including The Glen at Heather Farm. We put a refundable deposit on a unit at The Glen, knowing it would be several years before construction would be completed. We have just completed the reservation process and know which unit we will live in when The Glen is completed. Our entire experience with the staff at The Glen has been great. Most recently, during the process to select our unit, we had excellent advice. They have listened to our priorities and guided us to a unit we are extremely happy with. The Glen will be a beautiful property and we are confident that it will be run with the same attention to detail and excellence as we have seen in other properties run by this organization. The staff at The Glen have extensive experience in developing and running Continuing Care Retirement Communities. We are so excited about this next phase of our lives and can't wait till the move in date gets closer. Our advice to anyone considering such a move is to NOT WAIT. Demand for CCRCs is very high. If you think this is for you, at least get in line with a refundable deposit so that when the time comes for you, you have this option.
