This property is beautiful. The cottages are lovely, and the views are amazing. Unfortunately, the management experience has overshadowed what could have been a wonderful place to live. My mother recently fell and hit her head over a rusty metal flower bed border in front of her cottage. She was taken to the emergency room, where she received stitches. Thank God, X-rays showed no injuries. This could have easily been a totally different review. During a meeting today, my mother respectfully brought up her concerns about the hazardous rusty metal flower bed border. Rather than showing empathy or addressing the safety issue, Debbie dismissed her concerns and treated her with a level of coldness and disrespect that was deeply upsetting. She simply wanted the rusty metal edging replaced with something safer for the seniors who live on the property. No resident especially a senior should be made to feel like their safety concerns do not matter. Debbie's response was unprofessional, and my mother deserves an apology. Because of the way this situation has been handled, we will be reporting our concerns to Human Resources. Residents deserve management that prioritizes their safety and treats them with compassion and respect.

My mom has lived in the independent living cottages and now in an assisted living apartment at The Blake. The independent living cottages are very nice and the independent living community and services offered are great. My mom was very resistant to moving out of her home of over 50 years, but she absolutely loved her cottage home at The Blake. The clubhouse available to independent living residents is very nice and a number of activities and outings are offered to the residents. In an effort to get a little more assistance for my mother, we recently moved her into an Assisted Living apartment. Once again, she was resistant to moving because she loved her independent living cottage, but she loves her new apartment! While the apartments are very nice, the real plus is the staff. EVERYONE we have encountered has been kind and attentive to her needs. They are truly interested in making and keeping their residents happy, safe and healthy.

My mom age 93 is a new Resident of the Blake and today When visiting her from La I had the opportunity to meet the staff! I was ecstatic when I met Nikki, Maria and A J who were so welcoming as well as professional! At the Blake the Team of people work so well together and showed great interest in my Mom from all different angles! The Blake is new and shines in cleanliness and the ideal place to live for anyone who needs help and friendship! There is a wonderful Beauty salon and Christy sees my mom for haircuts and color and as seen, does a beautiful job!!

The Blake is honestly so amazing! All of the employees and staff have such great hearts and LOVE their residents! The environment here is great. The residents are truly amazing. If you are considering joining the Blake, I highly recommend!
