We are extremely pleased with the care and environment at Somerby Baxter Village. After a difficult experience at another facility, my father-in-law moved here, and the difference has been remarkable. From our initial meeting with the Manager's, every promise made has been fulfilled. The staff are attentive, the facility is clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Our family has experienced a significant reduction in stress knowing he is in capable hands. We highly recommend Somerby Baxter Village to anyone seeking a supportive and well-run community for their loved one. Thank you to the entire team for your dedication and compassion.

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. They do not care about the residents at all. The leadership is AWFUL and hide behind a door. My mother in law lived there for a year and we tried to make it work but after being given another residents medication for 2 weeks, having her room filthy and inhabitable because they don't have housekeeping she was forced to live with feces on her floor for days at a time, the toilet would be clogged for DAYS and no one to help fix it. They claim they have housekeeping and maintenance onsite but that is false. They can't keep staff so they sometimes pay for a company to come in to clean but most times they just leave it and the resident lives in filth. There is no weekly cleanings as they tell you. Its garbage removal and that's about it. My MIL has an incontinence problem and they would leave the stains on the floor for days at a time. You would ask for it to be cleaned and they would never send anyone in. When we found out she had been given another residents medication for 2 weeks and reported it we were told they would look into it and get back to us. Never heard another word. They were bothered we brought it to their attention. She could have died taking someone else's medication and who knows what could have happened to the other resident going without. We would try to meet with the ED but she was always "busy" or "in a meeting". The executive staff is rude, inconsiderate and do not want to be bothered with dealing with families or residents. One of the med techs pushed me because she was upset I reported her to her manager for instructing my MIL to not take prescribed medication because she felt it wasn't helping. We asked her several times to not have that conversation with my MIL and she continued so we reported her so she pushed me. If she pushes me, my MILs advocate, what does she do to my MIL and other patients when we are not there? We reported it and nothing happened. They continued to have her work with our MIL. We had to put a camera in the room because we were worried for her safety as we found another place for her to live. My MILs room had a door to a patio, we asked weekly to ensure the door was locked at night for her safety as she was not able to lock the door herself. The door was ALWAYS unlocked. So we got to the point she couldn't go outside because they never ensured the door was locked at night. It's very easy to gain access to those rooms and the residents as the lock is tricky and challenging for residents so who knows what could happen. The staff doesn't check the doors so anyone can get in if they tried. They do so many sneaky things when families are not looking and when you call them out on it they act like you're stupid. Communication is awful. My MIL fell one night and they didn't inform us until 11:30 am the following day. When asked what happened I was told the book was "too far away to get" that would have the report in it. Luckily, she was OK but you can't rely on them to keep you posted if your family member falls unless they are taken out via ambulance. They cannot stand family members who are active participants in their loved ones lives. They don't want to be held accountable for anything. It may look nice and have all the bells and whistles you want, but believe me, you're doing a disservice to your family member putting them there. Tour other facilities, you will see the ED has their office doors open for families to see them, greet them and make them feel like your family member matters. Not Sara, the ED there. She could care less and it shows. They can't keep staff because they treat them so poorly so residents have no consistency which is important as they progress in their disease. Go find another place and don't make the same mistake we made.

We are excited to hear that The Bridge Management Group will now manage Somerby in Baxter Village in Fort Mill, SC. We have had family members reside in The Bridge managed ALF’s. The service, care, and therapy staff are exceptional. We expect great things!!!

My grandfather lives in this community and our experience has been great. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. My grandfather has made friends and he has really came out of his shell since being at The Blake at Baxter. Moving him here was the not only the best decision for our family, but also for him.
