Highpoint at Fort Mill

If I could give this facility no stars I would. I moved my loved one in mid May 2026. Today is July 5, 1026, and I write this review to let you know they have dropped the ball on 3 occasions. The most recent being today. My loved one has advanced Alzheimers. She was in the ER for 6 hours and I was never notified. Now someone called at 3am and never left a message. When I saw that missed call at 8am,I called Highpoint and the receptionist had no idea what happened nor was there any management on premises. I have been calling for 4.5 hours demanding to speak to someone about this egregious issue and the only person who is answering my calls is the receptionist. No not one manager, not one supervisor, not one nurse they have on staff. They have great food, nice premises, clean facilities. Heather, the sales rep, gave a great tour, they have sizable apartments and reasonable pricing. Beautiful facade, but the guts of the operation has fallen short. None of the pretty things about the facility matter if that are inept at taking care of your loved one or fail to communicate directly with the responsible family member. And yes, I will be pursuing this issue with every available avenue at my disposal.

My dad has been living at High Point Fort Mill for six months - first in Independent Living and is now living in Assisted Living. We have really been so happy with the facilities, food and staff members. Everyone has been so responsive when we've had questions or needs. The Executive Director, Leslie, is very accessible and kind. I think the size of the facility is perfect, especially for those who might be overwhelmed with a large campus. There are good activities offered as well.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Please absolutely do not send your loved one here. All the previous 5-star reviews on here are simply from tour experiences, which was wonderful, but none of these previous reviews are from someone who experienced the nightmare of the "care" this place provides. Making the decision to place a loved one in a care facility is emotionally taxing as it is but imagine the feeling you would get to find out that they FORGOT about your loved one and left him alone in his room for almost 20 hours. No help getting to bed, no breakfast, no medications administered, no lunch - NOTHING. NO ONE CHECKED ON HIM ONCE until we arrived to find him in the same spot he was left. It was outright disgraceful! - That alone would be enough to scare anyone from this place, but also be advised that this place has NO PROCEDURES, no sign out procedures, so it's easy to see how they don't know who is or isn't in the facility at any given moment. I also witnessed other residents in the facility miss dinner simply because the staff forgot to get them. My loved one's bed sheets were NEVER changed in the month he was there. I could continue, but this place has already wasted enough of our time. Please do not send anyone to this place, and don't let Leslie (the "director") fool you, she doesn't have a clue what's going on in that place. She cares more about her "image" than actually caring for the residents in the facility. When approached on several issues, all she had was excuses or outright ignored our concerns. Bless the sweet lady named Carla, she is the only one who tried to help us, and I'm sure she won't be sticking around there for long.

My brother was here for less than a month. What my sister in law, niece and nephew endured and witnessed was despicable, What horrible care he received disgusted all of us in his extended family. They did not care for him at all. They do not even know who comes in or leaves. He did without meals. Please do not let this place fool you. Run fast!!!
