This is for the Greer facility on the memory care side**** If I could give this zero stars I would. The only reason I’m giving it one star is for the select few amazing staff that actually have empathy and care about the residents. I’m tired of watching my grandma being covered in her own urine and feces. Spiders and bugs every corner but no housekeeping is ever available to keep the rooms clean. Residents steal keys and beat up staff. Meals are forgotten, meds are constantly messed up, the list goes on. The few staff that actually do their best and care for their residents deserve WAY more than the management gives them. Don’t forget they all tell you to go straight to the executive director…but she is never available! They will ignore all your concerns and problems just for a paycheck. They never care about problems that arise, they just ignore everything to make it go away! ALL OF THE RESIDENTS DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS! The management needs to be COMPLETELY cleaned out and people need to be brought in that actually care about their staff and residents instead of being blinded by greed. A big thank you to the select staff that go above and beyond, they definitely aren’t appreciated enough.

2 weeks in . Dad in assisted living. They did not answer his call button and the first 3 days did not give him his insulin and LUED about it as it was checked off as given. Now he smokes. He has to chase them down quite a long way and try to find them for 2 cigarettes at a time. I found out tonight they refuse him sometimes saying he doesn't need to smoke that much. Not their place to withhold what he paid for . He's smoked for 67 years. Give him the dam cigarettes after he has to chase them down! Mom in memory care. Doc took 2 of her depakotes away . They say she doesn't need them. She needs them now more than she did at home! I've seen her put hands on my dad there. My husband went to visit and saw her hit him then too. They have no clue if she needs them or not because they dont often see her and when they do it's for meds and she can mask for people very well. Always has been good at that. 2 weeks to the day of moving there my dad found her on the floor in her room at 7:30 in the morning. She hadn't fell at home in over 2 years and didn't get hurt that time. But here they told my sister she's fine and sent her to er because she had a little pain. Her shoulder was disconnected and now she can't walk to the bedside toilet without help. Meanwhile it's almost 10 thousand a month for them to live here. I'm so beyond upset. I've worked in these places before. I wanted to believe their sales pitch. I still had doubts but my sister had faith. None of us have faith anymore. Going to try to go back to home health care if I can talk my sister into it. By the way, if terra bella is reading this my sister will be contacting you about the newest situation about rationing a grown man's cigarettes that he paid for.

I am giving this a 1 Star for some of the amazing staff at this facility. As in any healthcare profession you expect turnover, but in the 5 months my mother has been in the memory care side, she is constantly wet, bed soaked, meals forgotten, no snacks, no housekeeping, bugs in her room etc. I am constantly repeating myself to staff members as it is always revolving. I will say when you do get those gems that you know are taking care of your loved one, they get moved and you start all over again. When certain staff is working, I am relieved because I know my mother is taken care of. When certain staff are not working I constantly worry about her well being. She does have a pendant for help but it has been broke for 2 weeks and no replacement given. I am constantly changing my mother, her bed, asking for laundry to be done, making sure she ate, etc. There have been less than a handful of times that I have been able to come and visit my mother without having to do housekeeping and ensuring she is okay before I leave for the night. Again this is NOT ALL STAFF - I have requested pest control numerous times (with no luck)...left messages, texts and emails for management to address my concerns and all have gone unanswered and this speaks volumes. I would not recommend the Memory Care Unit as a place for loved ones only your enemies.

My mother was a resident here for a short while. It was disastrous. She wasn’t kept clean, often soaking through her clothes which the aide we were paying to offer her additional attention would find upon arriving. I think the staff thought they were relieved of any duties because we were providing extra care for our mother. The staff also used her room as a break room when she was in the activities area. They are constantly on their cell phones and provide no attention to residents. I witnessed a resident strike another resident and no one did anything. In short, a horrible experience.
