My mom was at Sunrise for three years. During that time, she received great care from many caregivers, but the most compassionate and dedicated to my mom was Silvia. She became like family to my mom and truly made a difference in her life. We are ever grateful that, with Silvia's help ,mom made it to 100 years of age. Shortly after her 100th birthday mom declined rapidly. The whole staff at Sunrise was amazing and caring and really helped our family at a difficult time. She lasted 5 days on hospice which we were able to have right in the beautiful Sunrise facility that had become her "home". Staff members tearfully came to her room to say goodbye. We were touched by their empathy. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Sunrise.

We interviewed and visited multiple facilities before choosing Sunrise Senior Living. What stood out to all the other facilities was the professional and friendly staff. The facility was clean, warm and inviting. Most important the kindness, patience and genuine concern for our mother’s well-being did not go unnoticed. It brought us comfort to know our mother was treated with dignity, warmth and respect every day. The special relationships she formed with your staff meant so much to her and to us as well. The staff made a difficult and challenging season easier and we are very grateful.

My 94-year-old father moved into the Reminiscence (Memory Care) neighborhood at Sunrise of Westfield a year ago, and I could not be happier with our decision. Before choosing Sunrise, we toured 10 different assisted living facilities in the area. While there are many newer options within 25 minutes of me, I chose the Sunrise of Westfield for one very important reason: The Staff. Sunrise of Westfield has, by far, the most experienced staff of all the facilities we visited. Many team members have worked there for years (some for 5 to 10 to 20 years), and it shows. The staff is compassionate, cheerful, attentive, knowledgeable, and deeply dedicated. From the moment I walk in the door, everyone is warm and welcoming. Most importantly, my father is truly happy and thriving there in every way. The Reminiscence Manager, Kerry Ann, is exceptional. She knows everything that is going on in the neighborhood, and her team is extremely well trained and works seamlessly together. Every caregiver in Memory Care is truly special. They are attentive while also engaging my father with warmth and humor, treating him like a family member. I have had a positive experience with Every Single caregiver. Many have worked there for years and clearly pass along their strong work ethic to new team members. There is great consistency of care. The nursing staff, led by Patricia, is equally outstanding. Whenever I have a question, a nurse responds promptly, and the system Patricia has in place is extremely organized. The medical technicians are diligent and attentive as well. I am also very impressed with the medical services available on site. The nurse practitioner is thorough and communicative, and my father is able to see a dentist, eye doctor, dermatologist, and podiatrist without ever leaving Sunrise. Every staff member I encounter—from the front desk to activity, kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance—shares the same positive, helpful, and cheerful attitude. Sunrise of Westfield is an amazing community, and I am deeply grateful that my father is cared for there. I highly recommend this community!

Our family has had an incredibly positive experience with Sunrise of Westfield. My 84-year-old uncle, who lived independently his entire life and is solitary by nature (and, at times, quite grumpy...lol), made the transition to assisted living with profound reluctance. Frankly, he had reached a point where he had little interest in engaging with life at all. The staff at Sunrise who care for him daily—especially Deidre and Kathy—have been nothing short of extraordinary in helping him through this transition. Their patience, warmth, and genuine kindness stand out. They meet him exactly where he is, handling his resistance and gruffness with a rare combination of compassion, lightheartedness and humor (his go-to responses). They don’t just provide care—they connect with him in a way that has made all the difference. The nursing team is equally exceptional. The Nursing Director, Patty, spent a tremendous amount of time with our family as we considered Sunrise and throughout my uncle's transition. She was refreshingly candid and transparent—she provided straightforward, thoughtful answers, even when the answers weren't what we hoped to hear. That honesty made it clear she was focused on what was right for my uncle, not just filling a spot. This helped us build trust and feel confident in our decision. She managed every aspect of his transition and helped guide us through what we needed to do. The nurses on site are attentive, responsive, and consistently helpful—whenever I have a question they are able to provide the answer. Throughout this entire journey—which began in a hospital and continued through a rehab facility—we often felt bounced around, struggling to get clear information or have our questions answered. It was frustrating and overwhelming. It was like banging my head against a wall! That has not been the case here. Our questions are answered promptly, and if something isn’t immediately known, the staff follows through and provides answers quickly. That level of responsiveness has made an enormous difference and our stress level has decreased significantly. As in life, there is a mix of different approaches and styles. The overall culture here is clearly one of attentiveness and respect. What is especially notable is the administration’s awareness and responsiveness when an interaction hasn't been ideal. They understand that not every personality match will be perfect and demonstrate a willingness to acknowledge when a situation could have been approached differently based on my uncle's demeanor. While we all hope that everything will always be perfect, that is not life. This insight and acknowledgement is what has been the most reassuring about my uncle being at Sunrise of Westfield. It leaves me trusting that if something of a serious nature were to ever occur, it would be handled appropriately. Amanda, the assisted living coordinator, is a true go-to—she seems to know a little bit about everything and is always able to point you in the right direction or provide the answer. Raquel, the Executive Director, met with us on a weekend and remained in contact throughout the process. Knowing my uncle loves dogs, she even brought hers in on his move-in day. Although she is not involved in day-to-day operations, she clearly has a pulse on the residence and sets the tone through her leadership. She always has a smile, greets everyone by name and has been willing to help us out, no matter what the task is. This has clearly trickled down and the same can be found in all of Sunrise's employees. Most importantly, my uncle is safe, cared for, and—perhaps most surprisingly—engaging more than we ever expected. Sunrise of Westfield has truly made what could have been a very difficult transition into a positive and dignified experience. We are deeply grateful.
