The staff at Sunrise at Mount Vernon are the most skilled and compassionate professionals our family has encountered while caring for my mother with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Following a hospitalization, the respite care, activities (bingo, and much more), and friendships my mother developed were crucial to her recovery. She is stronger now because of her month there. A special thank you to Sadia, Tanya, Star, Esther, and Valerie, and the incredible REM1 team. We look forward to return visits to see new friends and catch up with the staff!❤️😊

My Mom and I recently toured the Sunrise at Mount Vernon, which is a lovely serene and well maintained property tucked away in a quiet community. Thank you so much, Sadia Ali for your warm welcome and wonderfully informative tour! We loved touring the resident apartments, and exploring the variety of warm and inviting common areas; as well as meeting the friendly staff and residents! it was also a special treat to meet your talented Chef and to be invited to enjoy the delicious lunch he prepared! Sunrise at Mount Vernon did an outstanding job caring for my mother during her final year of life. She lived there from December 21, 2022 through January 10, 2024. The staff was very responsive to my mother's needs, and the quality and variety of activities available to Sunrise residents is top notch. All the staff were professional, competent, service oriented, friendly, and a pleasure to interact with. After my mother died Sunrise staff were extremely supportive and helpful to me with taking care of all necessary business. Today I want to take the time to say “thank you.” Thank you to the Sunrise at Mount Vernon staff who has been caring for my mother with advanced Alzheimer’s since January. From the moment I walked in it felt like home – the leadership team is visible, approachable, responsive, and involved in every aspect of the community; the concierge desk personnel is personable and always welcoming; the clinical team is knowledgeable and communication is always accurate and timely. I have witnessed the care team support not only my mother, but all residents, with the patience, love, and care one would provide a family member. They exude joy and positivity and create the best environment possible for the residents. The care staff goes above and beyond to preserve the dignity of residents and celebrate what makes them special. An example of this is the custom made shadow boxes displayed outside every room with that resident’s background, interests, and picture. Oprah was so impressed with this facility and its staff that she gifted each staff member with all of her favorite things last year. My family has experience with three other memory care facilities and The Sunrise at Mt. Vernon has lived up to its reputation.
