Sunrise of McLean feels warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Executive Director Julie has created an atmosphere where residents appear to feel at home and guests are welcomed. The staff are friendly, engaging, and attentive—regularly greeting residents, holding conversations, and checking on them throughout the day. Im unsure of Sarah’s position within the community but in observation she looks to truly adore the residents. This place is a wonderful community filled with genuine care from a genuine staff.

My associate and I visited Sunrise of McLean this past Saturday and had a delightful time at their holiday brunch. The food was delicious and the employees were warm and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed our tour by Matthew Veleber. I highly recommend this community.

Due to limited mobility and non-weight-bearing restrictions following a knee replacement and a broken bone in my other leg, I chose the respite care option at this Sunrise location, which requires a minimum 30-day stay. (with the option to extend if needed) I stayed in an efficiency unit that came furnished along with a refrigerator, TV, and a very nice, safe bathroom that included grab bars and plenty of space to get in and out with a wheelchair. The room was clean, spacious, and filled with natural light—very comfortable during my recovery. The caregivers assigned to my unit were excellent—attentive, professional, and truly caring. The overall decor of the facility is warm, modern, and impeccably clean. I also really appreciated the beautiful outdoor patio area, which was a peaceful spot to spend time when weather allowed. The physical therapy team was another highlight of my stay. They came to my room every day to get me for therapy and were excellent at adjusting my treatment plan to meet my changing needs. I especially appreciated how they introduced creative, practical exercises that helped me prepare for my eventual discharge and return home. A special mention goes to the Executive Director, Julie, who is incredibly hands-on and dedicated. She’s clearly on top of everything and doesn't hesitate to jump in—whether it’s covering the front desk or assisting in the dining room when needed. That level of involvement speaks volumes about the leadership and overall quality of care at this facility.

My sister was a resident of Sunrise of McLean for a year and a half before moving to Georgia to be closer to me. She was always treated with respect and kindness by the staff. The facility is very beautiful and well maintained. I would recommend Sunrise to anyone looking for a safe and caring place for their loved one. A+
