Sunrise of Frederick

No words can express the appreciation I have for the staff at Sunrise of Frederick. My sister, who was diagnosed and suffered from frontotemporal dementia, became a resident at the beginning of 2023 until her transition early this year. She was immediately treated like family and fit right in. Before her rapid decline, I could tell she loved her caregivers and staff. There were a few times where I had to voice some concerns, and they were heard with empathy and addressed immediately. I placed her here after being in another home that treated her like the number on her door but that was not the case at Sunrise. I watched the workers with other residents and saw the same level of care and concern they gave my sister and that pleased me as well. I am so grateful and thankful for Brenda and the entire staff who comforted me and my family during the entire process of her residency end. They always took time to listen to me and try to comfort me because I could not come to acceptance of my sister’s condition, especially because she was so young. It has taken me a little over 5 months to finally write this review, as I am still very much dealing with grief, but could not let it go much longer unsaid. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care you gave my sister dear Van. I will always be grateful and wish you all the best.

Sunrise of Frederick definitely exceeded my expectation of a skilled nursing facility. My mother had dementia and was wheelchair bound. Sunrise caregivers took the time and concern to deal with all of her issues. The nursing team stayed on top of the variety of situations that she came in with and arose as time progressed. Everyone in the facility was friendly and helpful. The facility was clean. No smells. Fun activities were planned for the residents and their families. Access was 24/7. I visited many facilities then narrowed down my selection for 2nd visits. Sunrise of Frederick was at the top from the first visit. Without a doubt I made the right choice.

We recently and successfully enrolled a senior family member at this outstanding elder care facility. From the very beginning, all the staff, whether leadership or other team members, could not have been more genuinely friendly and competent. We find Sunrise of Frederick well organized, efficient, clean and manifestly welcoming. The food variety and quality are outstanding. It's nearly a party atmosphere much of the time, with creative event planning, staff and decor keeping residents engaged and motivated. The daily activities schedule is robust. The intake/evaluation session was thorough, covering every aspect of care and accommodation. In particular, thank you to Regan, Nancy, Brad, Jude, Line-Carole, Carolyn, Sosena, Brenda and Katrice for welcoming us with open arms and smiles!

I would give negative stars if possible. They acted in the beginning like this was the best place for my grandmother. She was there 5 days and died: now she was 97 and had dementia and wasn’t doing well, her passing I do not put on them. However after her passing. We did not matter one bit. Zero help to get her things removed. Was the most stressful situation returning all her things to Medicare. We were charged 15,000 to move I . 5 k administrative fees and 10k first month: these people were paid 3k a day. Refused to give us a penny back. Now it’s 11 days since her passing and they sent us a bill for 25k more. They’re trash humans and a trash company: do not trust your loved ones to them and your money.
