My daughter, son-in-law and I toured Sunrise in Findlay yesterday. Jill did an awesome job of showing us the facility, especially the memory care unit, explaining everything and answering all of our questions. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff that we met, the cleanliness of the facility and the amenities they offer. Most of all it feels like a home, not like a “nursing home”. I am so thankful that they have a room available and look forward to moving my husband in. I know in my heart it is the right place for him.

My mother in law went to Sunrise of Findlay for rehab after a hip replacement. She loved it so very much. Her room was clean and spacious. The meals were always well made and kitchen staff made sure she enjoyed her food. The nursing staff was friendly and gave her privacy. There was always something going on as well. Be it activities at Sunrise or even outings to different stores. If you have a loved one who needs just a little more help, Sunrise of Findlay is a great place.

My sister has been at Sunrise for a little over a year! She says if she can’t be home this is a great place to be. The food is good, she gets very good care and there are activities to do every day. Sunrise is just the right size so all the staff knows Jeanne and are always so kind to her. I can’t say enough praise about the staff. They are always willing to listen and take time for any help we might need and we feel like we’re part of the Sunrise family. We are so happy we found such a great place for Jeanne.

My 97 year old mother was at sunrise for about 2 months, the last few weeks in the "Memory," (dementia) unit. She experienced several unwitnessed falls, luckily without serious injury. The nurse, esp. on evenings, kept me well-informed. Mom was also transferred to the hospital on three occasions - once due to her behavior. I was surprised a facility that trumpets their dementia care could not de-escalate her themselves. Speaking to a funeral director, he related the same issue when his mother was there - frequent trips to the ER for behavior control. The administrator and staff were all attentive and respectful, but there never seemed to be quite enough hands-on care givers for the number of residents. Due to complications related to financial refunds, I contacted the main office in SD, speaking to a wonderful woman named Heidi, who was sincerely sympathetic, apologetic, and was diligent in expediting the resolution.
