Sunrise of Fairfax

- The actual caregivers and care team here are excellent, kind hearted people. The sales team is totally lovely, the place looks gorgeous, and the food is high quality. - HOWEVER, the wait times for help are outrageous. We were told 7-12 minutes response time when we toured the place. In reality, it was commonly more like 45 minutes to never. My mother became terrified that if she ever REALLY needed help, she would die waiting for it. - And BEWARE of getting into BUSINESS with these people, and check your bills VERY carefully. The administrators, financial staff, and billing department are almost totally non-responsive, and they have continued to bill me AFTER my mother died. They actually owe us money, and still they have attempted to extract money from us. - I also had to contact them repeatedly over 8 weeks just to get someone at Sunrise to help me with Long Term Care Insurance. - Again, some lovely, helpful folks in Care, but it's bad news behind the curtain.

I toured the community looking for my grandmother. I was blown away by the community overall- large outdoor spaces even in their memory care, welcoming staff from the leadership team all the way to the waiters in the dining room! All of the residents looked happy and well cared for. I am looking forward to bringing my grandmother back with me to enjoy brunch with some of the wonderful residents that I met!

This is a beautiful facility. The lack of consistent leadership in key areas has been very challenging. Staff leaves abruptly and it takes months to replace them. Despite that challenge the staff in place are lovely and helpful. It makes me wonder about the corporate/local community connection.

Ed and his team in Reminiscence were awesome and amazing. My dad thrived in their care. Ed always went above and over to ensure the best care for the residents and families. The setting is luxury at a reasonable cost. I cannot say enough for him and his team. I will miss them.
