Sunrise of Edgewater

Our 94 yr old mom has lived at Sunrise of Edgewater since 12/2025 and receives a high level of assistance. The premises are bright, spacious, clean and inviting with easy access to outdoor areas to enjoy. Staff members are helpful, caring and kind. Meals are varied with alternative choices daily. Each day there’s various activities for the residents to choose from, as well as opportunities to participate in outings to places of interest. We are very pleased with Sunrise of Edgewater.

My mom has been at Sunrise of Edgewater for 2 years. I would like to thank the Executive Director Sarah for always lending a helping hand. It was time for my mom to move to another town and Sarah was able to secure a spot at a sister Sunrise Senior Living in Bergen County. I will always be grateful for her help. Thank you to Lars who always goes above and beyond his job to make the residents feel like his own family. He truly cares for the residents and it shows! I will miss seeing Olivia on a daily basis. She was always there to listen, talk and help. She is a special person. Kristina and Olivia were instrumental in getting my mom back to Sunrise after a long rehab stay. They really cared. The day I met Sandra I felt like she was an old friend, I will miss her too. To all of the caregivers who took exceptional care of my mom when she could hardly care for herself…..I will forever be grateful. They do their job with love. Please consider Sunrise of Edgewater if you are needing a place for your loved one. You will not be disappointed.

I greatly appreciate the staff at Sunrise because they care. Lars and Olivia are helpful as well as the front desk staff. Also attentive is the direct care staff (Joy, Flora, Julemine, and so many more). The nursing staff was responsive when Mom got sick and had to go to the hospital. I also want to give a shout out to the servers and the chef. The servers were patient and the food is good. We pay for the service but the care is free. The staff was there for me during a hard time. Also a shout out to the residents; they do watch out for each other. It is a community.

I am a level 9 all star contributor whose pictures videos and contributions have been viewed by almost 4 million people, so it is important that everyone play close attention to this review. I took down my previous review of this place because in the end I felt a little bad. But now I do not and I have to expose everything and I am not hiding anything. Everyone has the right to see what's going on here and it is my duty for others to know. This location is a complete disaster despite me having reached out to the corporate office and speaking to the higher-ups nothing seems to have made a difference. So now I have no choice but to repost the horrors of this place. I urge everyone trying to put their relatives in this facility to please take your business elsewhere. I have tried my best to reach out to people at the corporate office and despite everyone ignoring me I highly doubt they're going to ignore me this time. I've taken upon myself to document everything as much as possible. Below are just some of the pictures of the horrors that take place in this kitchen also I urge everyone to look at all the reviews of how they treat the patients. A lot of this has brought to the attention of management and nothing has been done but I have a feeling after this post a lot of things are going to change.
