I’ve been going to Sumter Senior living for many years now. I have had the honor to care for many of their residents throughout the years. Just recently, I met with two families to discuss a higher level of care for their loved ones. Each family was very adamant about the great care that they’re receiving. One family, stating that the kindness did the team has showed their loved one has been like no other. The other emphasize their constant communication With updates on their loved one since the family lives out of state. They were very direct by mentioning Victoria the director of nursing, Mel, Nithira, and Brittany. This team with their impeccable work ethic, never ceases to impress the families that have trusted them with their care. I encourage you to stop in and speak to Tanya and the team. You can see for yourself, what a great community this truly is.

The staff at Sumter Senior Living has been beyond amazing through the entire process of starting with a general inquiry to moving in and now daily life. They are kind, always available and very qualified. The facility is extremely clean, the food is delicious with many different options to choose from and the atmosphere feels like resort living. We are very happy to have found a facility that fits all of our needs.

My sister laid on the floor for over 45 minutes during the night until help finally arrived. Once help arrived, the CNA's were not kind nor pleasant. It gets worse. The woman who signed us up told us she would check on my sister throughout the 10 days that I would be gone. I was assured all would be well. Not once after I left did she visit my sister. It appeared that once you sign on the dotted line her job was done even though that is NOT what she presented to our family. In retrospect, to me it was full of lies and greed. To make things worse there was an outbreak of MRSA so food was left outside the door and MY SISTER was not able to retrieve the food. She was left alone with no food and her texts expressed her loneliness and fear. My brother changed his plans to make an emergency visit. Sumter had clear instructions before I left on my 10 day absence, that my sister was DNR and we were told that the doctor would visit her the next day and he would update her chart to DNR. You may have guessed correctly, that never happened. My sister did not make it 3 weeks in their care. They of course kept the 1 time intake fee without any pro-ration, that would be a year fee for her 2 week miserable stay at Sumter Senior Living. It still breaks my heart and I only had the courage to write this as her 2 year death was days ago. It haunts me.
