Horrible facility. Placed smelt of urine. The staff was extremely unresponsive to the residents needs. Made promises about being caring and attentive to the needs of the residents. PSeems like the only thing they actually cared about was the check they received monthly. And actually have no interest in maintaining a high standard of care and increasing the quality of life for their residents. And increasing the life expectancy

My beloved grandmother recently passed away at this facility. While there were a few truly kind-hearted employees whom we deeply appreciated, most of the staff were cold and indifferent, creating an unpredictable and often harsh environment. One night, due to insufficient check-ins, my grandmother, who was unsteady on her feet, tried to go to the bathroom on her own because she couldn’t wait any longer. She fell, broke her arm. This led to a rapid and painful decline. Soon after, she became bedridden, stopped speaking, and stopped eating. My family and I were by her side around the clock until she passed about ten days later. During that time, we witnessed repeated instances of rudeness, neglect, and, at best, complete indifference from many of the staff. The worst experience came on the night of her passing. When we were preparing to transport her, a care giver deliberately locked us out of the facility because she was upset that we were letting the morgue staff in. She believed we didn’t have permission for them to take her, even though we did. Our protocol was different because of our religion but we were in direct communication with her hospice nurse. No one came to check on us during the hours leading up to this event, even though they knew she had passed, nor did anyone offer condolences or show any compassion. Instead, this “care” giver was rude and snarky in such heartbreaking circumstances. It has taken me months to write this because the pain was too raw. I’m not sure what else to do besides share our experience. I know my grandmother would have wanted me to.

My outspoken mother-in-law Ellie, lived here for 8 years and when asked how it was going, she always said,”I really have no complaints.” One of Studio Royale’s advantages is that there is rarely turnover within the central staff, so the director, the activities director, the medical people have been there forever. They know the residents as individuals and there’s an intimacy that’s kind and caring. When they noticed Ellie worked word search puzzles, they printed one out for her every day until she was 103. She was always clean and well-groomed. Her surroundings always smelled fresh. The whole establishment runs like healthy family with solid leadership. We are very, very grateful.

I had a tour of Studio Royale with Rhonda and I think it is a beautiful place for senior living. I also met the nurse and felt comfortable with the whole environment. I think this will be a perfect fit for my mother when she is ready.
