My grandmother was found unconscious with a bleeding head wound and was down for an unknown amount of time, suspected all night and not found until mid morning the next day. The week prior we were extremely upset to have found her room covered in days worth of uneaten food trash when we requested them to bring it to her room because she clearly was not eating so we had to hire a hospice team two days before this fall happened. It’s been 72 hours and she never woke up or regained consciousness and was returned back to story point to pass away peacefully. I had to chase nurses down multiple times yesterday because no one came for over 45 minutes after pressing the red emergency call button. I also had to leave my dying grandmothers bedside to go out and get diapers because the facility had zero. Her hospice team had called in medication around 11 am that morning and by 4 pm the nurses acted like the order was never put through and then when administering the medication, i had hospice on the phone who had to correct the nurse on call at story point in how to administer. My grandmother is unconscious so nothing by mouth and they didn’t give her the medicine all day because they thought they had to mix it with apple sauce but really it could have been mixed with her morphine so she suffered hours unnecessarily. Today i called 5 separate times with 4 times no answer and the fifth i finally got a receptionist who transferred me to the nursing station bc im requesting vitals on my dying grandmother and no one picked up. I asked 3 times yesterday for a pulse ox reading and no one ever came to bring us one. This is already an unimaginably hard time for my family but story point has been unbelievably devastating in their care.

The people that did the hardest jobs and continued to show up each and every day were spread too thin and worked too hard. Turn over rates are very high. Simple tasks such as handwashing, brushing teeth, and nail care were not getting done. Cold days my father was dressed in shorts (x2 I checked and he did have pants in his drawer). Everything smells of urine. Activities are great for those that can still participate. I was so hopeful when he moved in. Advocate for your family! Go often to check on them!!

Everytime I visit my friend, the receptionist Tracy always greets everyone with a smile. The nurses Brittany and Kameka are always attentive to their patients and patients loves them.
