I took my petting zoo to a great event they had for their residents and was so impressed by how much care and detail was put into everything. Hannah and Sarah were amazing and did a great job! But beyond the fun event, it was so obvious how much the entire staff care about the residents and how much the residents enjoy being there. This really is a special place!

I agree with other reviews that they don't do a lot of what's promised. But that is the least of my complaints. My mother's wedding rings were stolen by the staff. She was devastated. They asked us to wait to file a police report so they could "investigate." I had to track them down to get an update but of course they found nothing. Then they left her in her memory care bed for 3 days, having a stroke, before they called me or the hospital. All that was left alive was her brain stem by the time she got help. There was nothing that could be done. She died 4 days later. Please don't send your loved ones there.

I have a friend in Memory Care at American House. She doesn’t have dementia, but has had strokes which make it difficult for her to talk or use her hands. Her mind is extremely sharp and she comprehends at a very high level. She walks very well. Hannah M at American House works in Memory Care there. I have observed her over the last few months and see how she cares for patients and tries to make life more meaningful, better, and prettier for them. She is always cheerfully meeting the needs of people who are not able to communicate their own needs. She treats each one with tenderness and respect. She even takes pictures of patients and sends them to family members so they can share some experiences of their loved ones. One big happy family! My friend didn’t feel well yesterday and was in bed. When Hannah came in to check on her, we were able to watch her in action and ask her questions. We learned so much that Hannah does. She even takes patients out to get manicures and pedicures. She takes them out to eat in restaurants. She takes them to shows. She takes them to the Dollar store, etc. I was so thrilled to know that my friend is still getting to experience life outside the walls of her assisted living. I also found that Hannah encourages my friend to assist her when working with other patients. My friend is able and loves to do what she can to help others. Hannah gives meaning to her life. This just a little picture of what I see at American House. If you are looking for a place that genuinely cares for the wellbeing of you or a loved one, I highly recommend American House on Gleason Road.
