I wouldn’t recommend Story Point to anyone if you’re looking to keep your family. I visited this place multiple times but I always see these care giver on phone, living residents unattended, barely one care giver in memory care which is scary for resident. I have talked to Carla about it multiple times but nothing has changed. Some of the nurses have been very supportive and going extra miles. How can someone be on their phone and headphones at work? How disrespectful is that for residents and families? We pay so much to keep our family there. Also, I had experienced them not letting me in to the building for 15 mins after 7pm. I had to wait for nurse to open the front door. This place used to be very nice when David was leading this facility. Some nurses are so sweet and hardworking. They definitely know what they’re doing.

Wonderful people who truly care about their residents! It’s a fairly small facility but genuinely feels like a family environment and a home. Management is fantastic, very easy to reach and very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this location if your family member (or you) ever needs a home!

My family is forever indebted to Sunrise of Gahanna. We were determined to honor our aging parents' preference to remain living independently in their own home. With the help of home health care we were able to provide that for my father and for a long while for my mother as well. At the age of 93, though, our mother suffered a devastating stroke and her time in Hospice began. Even with home healthcare, one of us still needed to be there with her 24/7. We did so for six weeks before the effects took a toll on all of us. With defeated hearts and exhausted bodies, we made the decision to move our beloved mother into an assisted living facility. While many places are large with elaborate decor, they felt impersonal. Sunrise of Gahanna offers an intimate, family like environment that felt right for our mother. It was the best decision we could have made and we realized that we should have made the move sooner. Our mother thrived at Sunrise. Not only did my family have peace of mind that Mom was being cared for in a beautiful, clean, safe, and skilled environment, she was loved by all of her caregivers. She quickly made new friends due to the family style neighborhood organization of the residence and the daily opportunities for residents to be socially stimulated by gathering, interacting, and enjoying regularly scheduled entertainment. Mom told us EVERY DAY how much she loved her caregivers at Sunrise. She said, "Isn't this place wonderful? They all treat me like I am their own mother." As I mentioned, the moved to Sunrise was not an easy one for my family. It came after much prayer and family discussion. At least one of us was there with Mom every day. As a result, we intimately witnessed the level of loving, expert care that not just Mom, but every resident receives. They truly do a work of heart and are answering a special call in this life. We soon came to regard the entire Sunrise staff as an extension of our family. They loved our mother, physically cared for her, and supported us with smiles, hugs, and expert guidance as we navigated not just the physical aspects of caring for our mother, but also our emotions during Mom's final weeks. They went above and beyond. With our faithful presence, a room adorned with personal belongings, and a staff that treated her like family, we did, in fact, honor our mother's request to live at home. As the saying goes, "Home is where the heart is." Sunrise of Gahanna provided care, safety, and love and thus, became our mother's home. For this my family is eternally grateful.

Caring, dedicated community. I like how it feels like family caring for my mother not strangers "just doing their job." Making the decision to move Mother into memory care was difficult, but it has been a good experience for her (and us).
