Watch your charges! This place shows you a beautiful building full of glitz and glamour while they have their hand in your pocket trying to squeeze you for every nickel and dime possible. My family member was charged for care not received by Laurus, the care contractor for Story Point. In addition my family member needed a blood draw before a Dr appointment and Harmony Cares, the contracted medical provider, didn't do in in a timely madder resulting in my family member going to the Dr appt and being told the lab numbers we're usable due to being too old. When this was brought to Harmony Care's attention, they said they had contacted the Dr and the time the blood was taken was fine. They wouldn't even take accountability for their mistake. The worst thing though was my family member was over charged by Story Point on her rent $250 monthly for a year. When I pointed this out via email, my request was basically ignored and I was told by the Executive Director, Liz Chappell, that she "forgot" to answer. She then wanted to give back $250 monthly for the next year. By this time, we had decided to move my family member and I asked that the entire credit be given for one month which it was. To add to the mess, I was given a letter dated 1/2/25 regarding renewal of my family member's lease. I had to respond by 1/28/25 if I didn't want to renew, other wise the lease automatically renewed. This means that I was given less than 26 days to respond and that didn't include time for the letter to be sent via snail mail. I sent 2 emails asking questions and both required second requests all while the clock was ticking. We missed the 1/28/25 deadline and I was told, again by Liz Chappell, that my family member may be responsible for buying out the lease (over $40, 000) because we didn't give notice on time. I got Liz's manager involved and told him at best, I had less than 26 days to respond and that didn't count the time to mail the letter plus 2 of my emails were not answered in a timely manner. He corrected the situation and was very apologetic. There was also a banking issue, but I think I've made my point here. Needless to say, we are done with Story Point and their antics. One last insult was that no one came to say goodbye to my family member before she moved out. I guess at that point they were glad we were leaving. I know we're glad to be gone. UPDATE-I have now received an invoice for $7400 after being assured that everything was settled. I tried calling Liz Chappel as indicated in the reply below but, once again, no response. For the record, I did give ample notice of our intent to leave to Liz but she didn't bother to tell anyone else. I have again had to get her superivsor involved to settle this matter. As stated at the beginning, watch what they're charging carefully.

My Mother has been here going on 2 years. She loves being at StoryPoint and I love that she is here and happy! It is a great facility with wonderful staff. Liz, the Director, really pulls it all together with her love and compassion ❤️ I wouldn't have my Mother anywhere else! PS, My Mother was at another place that cost more and needless to say, she is not there any more.

My grandpa spent the last 3 years of his life at this facility. He was so happy there. He had so many friends. He was the life of the party there and he loved every minute. There are many events and parties for the residents as well as trips. The director Liz is amazing and was so good to grandpa. She in my opinion makes that place what it is. She really cares about the residents.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at StoryPoint for the last two years. Since she has been there, she has been so happy. The activities keep her engaged with people. They create activities for holidays, current events and special things like the eclipse. Everyone, and I truly mean everyone, is caring, loving and supportive of each and every resident regardless if they are in Independent Living, Assisted Living or Memory Care. Mom has said many times that “this isn’t your typical nursing home!” She is living her best life!
