A year ago, I found this cute apartment home for my mother. While the unit had a dated kitchen and the bathrooms need some TLC, it fit most of her wants, so we plopped down the high application fee and she moved in. Fast forward a year, and the renewal contract shows up, with almost a 25% increase! Yes, you read that right… from $1900 to $2450/mo. For a senior community, where people are on fixed incomes, this is crazy! Maybe if they were updating the old sinks, cabinets and peeling laminate counters to granite or something, but to just stay as is, it seems like a ridiculous jump. Also, as others mentioned, the maintenance is very slow. I basically fix everything for her, when I come to visit. If we do sign a new lease, is it going to jump like this again next year?

We have found not only a home, but a community of wonderful staff and residents. We hadn’t realized how isolated we had become in our home. The move to Southwick Village has been the best thing we could have done. It is the perfect blend of support and independence.

I am changing my rating for Southwick Village from 5 stars to 3. We’ve been here going on 2 years and in the beginning everything was excellent. Now after switching over to being a renter we can’t seem to get maintenance to answer our work orders. We have issues that haven’t been addressed since this past spring. Now our dishwasher doesn’t work. I wonder how long it’ll take to get it repaired. Not happy in Southwick.

Place is very expensive. Rent keeps increasing while services that were once provided are being taken away. This place is designed to rob the residents blind. It wasn't always like that. The new owners are crooks and that lady Nancy gets so flustered and offended if the residents complain
