Seabrook is a good place for independent seniors AND those comfortable using computers and technology bc when my parents were there they were never able to work the system to make a dinner reservation and when I got involved to help them it wasn’t much easier. It was a terrible system for the elderly. Also, when my parents needed extra assistance, Seabrook overcharges for every service. And there were times Seabrook insisted we use Their people and couldn’t bring in our own (when my mom got Covid I was told her aide couldn’t come but theirs could. I asked if theirs live on the property and they said no. So what’s the difference if her aide comes or theirs, other than the fact theirs is 3X the price). After making a stink insisting I’d only use theirs at the same price my mom pays her aide they gave in. Also, an elderly Vet next to my parents used to sleep with his key in the lock bc he couldn’t remove it and when I finally got to the right dept (another downfall of such a large facility,) to ask them to fix his lock or the key they said he should bring the key to them. I told said he’s 98 and unable to get all the way to the other building which is far enough away they have a shuttle bus to get there, but they didn’t care. I reminded them he is a new resident and should have been given a key that works and shouldn’t have to go to them but the rules are the rules at Seabrook. Seabrook sounds great bc of all the amenities but if the residents can’t access them, what’s the point, other than to look good to future residents. Seabrook was wonderful during Covid delivering meals to the residents doors, and the kids in the dining rooms are amazing hard workers and it’s great that Seabrook busses high school kids in to make money, but for someone like my mom who is quiet and not a go-getter, Seabrook was way too big & impersonal

The lady at the front desk of the town square building was very rude. First face when you walk in you should be greeted with kindness and instead I was greeted with nasty, unhelpful service.

Seabrook is a wonderful place and Mom is very happy there. However, they keep raising the the monthly fee over 4% every year! Seniors are on a fixed income and this is becoming a problem for many I talk to. They keep remodeling areas that are perfectly fine, I think to attract more residents. They are spending and spending and passing the bill to the residents! They will quote you one price when you move in, but don't expect that to be the bottom line.

My 91 year old Dad moved into Seabrook last week after we spent quite a bit of time visiting and researching facilities. Seabrook was close to family for support, had the best reviews from current residents (spoke to a few during our visits to try for random, unbiased opinions), and the staff were friendly and helpful. Now that he's settling in, he is enjoying the amenities, the convenience of everything, and the social aspect. Turns out his neighbor across the hall is a gentleman he worked with for 20+ years over 30 years ago so that reconnection was amazing. No complaints thus far!
