I visit people I know here and I find the Sanctuary very clean and welcoming. They offer a variety of activities and I am very pleased the staff assist me organizing Jewish holidays and Shabbat for their Jewish residents!! The staff are pleasant and helpful. I recommend Sanctuary Grande to people who ask me where to place their families.

My mother moved into Sanctuary Grande over a year ago. With the help of all the friendly staff she has grown to love it here and call it home. We are very thankful for this loving and safe place for her.

Our family’s experience with Sanctuary Grande has been deeply distressing, both during my father’s stay and especially following his passing in March 2025. I am sharing this so other families can be fully informed before making a decision. I also want to add that dad had been at Sanctuary Grande once previously because of the caring staff and good environment initially. He got better and went into independent living for a short time. When he got sick again and had to go back to assisted living, I didn't think twice about returning him there. But things had changed... Fees Without Value: During his 14 months there, we felt the billing was incredibly aggressive. My father was charged $5.00 for every single meal brought to his room—even when he only had the appetite for yogurt and juice. That’s $15.00 a day for minimal sustenance. Furthermore, we felt there was a constant push to "raise his level of care" (and his monthly bill), despite the fact that Hospice and private aides were already providing the majority of his actual hands-on care. The most shocking part of our experience began after my father passed away on March 14, 2025. Over a month after he died, I received a bill for April 2025 totaling over $1,700. There was a credit for $2,929.67 on the bill which was not explained, but is likely the care costs left for the month of March. In my opinion, it is unimaginable to charge a family for "care costs" for a resident who is no longer living. Plus, there should have been no bill for April at all...dad had died. The bill from April was marked “Do Not Pay,” so I believed it had been sent by accident. I was never called or emailed by the facility again. Instead, in November 2025, I was blindsided by a collections agency notice. Getting this resolved has felt like a second job while I am still in heavy grief. The Executive Director was unresponsive to my initial calls in November and early December. It took an email and a letter from my attorney to finally get a response on December 15. However, the responses took time and the situation is still not fully resolved two full months after the initial email. Even after being told in writing that the account was removed from collections, the collections agency informed me it was still active days later. I received a forwarded email stating the account was closed from collections on February 13, 2026. However, I will now have to do the hard work to make sure my credit gets fixed. This should never have been sent to collections in the first place. My Advice to Families: We are currently out nearly $3,000.00 for what I consider to be unjustified charges for a deceased resident. To anyone considering this facility: Audit every single bill and watch your wallet. And the financial person will repeatedly tell you how difficult the bills are to understand. They shouldn't be. This is the bill for caring for a loved one - why should it be hard to understand? Our experience has been a cycle of silence, empty promises, and financial stress during the hardest time of our lives. We are currently pursuing further action to resolve this. The grief and loss of my father has been horrible - the destruction of my credit and my trust in Sanctuary Grande was unkind, unnecessary, and unwarranted.
