San Marino has exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment we moved my mother here, the staff made her feel right at home. They are compassionate, responsive, and truly go above and beyond to ensure the well-being and happiness of all residents. It's clear that they care deeply about creating a positive environment.

The San Marino assisted living was at one time a privately owned caring community where both residents and staff were treated with respect and dignity — but now just corporate-owned with over- worked minimum staff and an uncaring corporate management. The AL side management wants residents that have minimal needs, they want docile residents to sit in the lobby or their rooms with little engagement or enrichment. I had a loved one there with early Alzheimer’s disease and they ignored neurologist assessment of him needing assisted living level of care. Instead the management wanted him in their memory care unit because of “potential insurance risk” . Ignoring the UC Medical Neuro assessment, San Marino issued a 30-day lease termination because the family took the advice of medical professionals and not the corporate bureaucrats. They have terminated many leases of residents over the last 6 months because of them actually needing some care. Don’t move your loved one to San Marino if they need assisted living.

San Marino was not only a home for our mother but for all of our family. Our mother was in the assisted living. The care she received by all staff was as though she were their mother. Staff was kind, considerate, and always helpful. Anytime something was needed they had someone in her room immediately. The management was phenomenal in helping us get her into San Marino and also throughout her stay. As you would walk the halls residents were cheerful and friendly and that also is an indication of the comfort level they have there. The individual staff assigned to her room were always cheerful, helpful, accommodating, even on her worst days they comforted her. We lost our mother due to her cancer. We would have not wanted her to be anywhere else when she passed. They took care of her and all of us. I only hope families that are searching for a happy, cheerful, caring environment for their loved ones that San Marino is considered.

San Marino a great place to visit. Staff is so friendly and caring and everyone goes above and beyond to provide the best service for the residents. Lot of longevity when it comes to employees, which is hard to find in Retirement Communities these days. Marie the Executive Director is excellent and has been in her role for over 10 plus years , her door is always open for suggestions, concerns or to simply say hello. Housekeeping and Caregiving employees, some have been here for 20 years. Nurse Michele is excellent and has been in her role 4 plus years. This is just to mention some of the staff here at San Marino. Lots of activities to choose from and great menu options as well. Lots of open space for outside activities as well as daily walks. It has best of everything, nature, picturesque walk paths around the Community as well as shopping centers, department stores, highways, medical offices, all within 5 minute distance. Please consider visiting San Marino and you certainly will not be disappointed.
