Sage Harbors memory care section requires you to stay actively involved. You cannot assume everything will be handled. You have to be paying attention and constantly advocating for your loved one's needs. The staff generally mean well, but they're often busy or otherwise distracted. So it's important to follow up on care plans, and daily routines. With regular visits and communication, your loved one can do well here, however, it takes effort and vigilance on the family's part.

My aunt was living in a senior living apartment at a different facility that was absolutely not the right fit for her. It was maze-like and stressful and full of unhappy employees. We knew we had to get her out fast but wanted to make sure we found somewhere wonderful for her! As anyone who has been through this process knows, it is such a hard decision! We toured multiple assisted living homes within the WNY area and from the moment we walked in Baywinde, we had such a good feeling and knew it was where she would thrive. She was understandably extremely anxious about the move, but she was welcomed with open arms and made to feel so loved. Ben (the health and wellness director), especially went out of his way to help her feel comfortable with coming and everyone has been so good about communicating with us as she settles in and adjusts. There are so many activities every day which is where Baywinde shines. She has been there about two months now and attends as many activities as she can and her anxiety is almost completely gone. We couldn't be happier with Baywinde for our family member. The administration and staff are responsive and available for questions and support -- very different from the previous senior living facility we had tried. Nearly everyone who visits our family member remarks upon the friendliness, patience, and kindness of the staff. Living areas are spotlessly clean and bright, and activities are varied and fun for all (even visitors!). Most of all, it's clear that the people at Baywinde genuinely care for residents. Our family member is thriving!

It was necessary for my husband to go to assisted living over a year ago. I’m glad I chose Sage Harbor. Everyone (receptionist, aids, administration, residents etc ) helped him to adjust and he is comfortable there, I dont worry about him while I travel. The room, food, care, etc are excellent. We had an incident where he was ill - I can’t say enough how caring the staff was in taking care of him. Thanks Baywinde
