I’ve visited Portside several times to see my grandmother, and each time I’ve left feeling disappointed, saddened, and deeply concerned about the quality of care being provided. The building is undeniably beautiful, with a polished, high-end appearance — but the care inside tells a different story from my personal experiences. I’ve consistently seen caregivers distracted and disengaged, often gathered in groups, more focused on their phones than the residents. The one person who has shown consistent kindness and attentiveness is the gentleman at the front desk. His warmth and genuine presence are the exception, not the rule, and only underscore how lacking the rest of the environment feels. One of the most upsetting moments came during a visit to the memory care unit. Loud music played while the caregiver on duty sat on her phone the entire time, never once interacting with a resident or acknowledging any families in the room. It was hard to watch — and impossible to forget. Portside may look like an ideal place from the outside, but what I’ve seen inside has left me with lasting disappointment. This isn’t what loving care should look like. I had hoped for a place where my grandmother would be treated with presence, respect, and compassion — instead, I left each visit wondering if anyone was looking out for her at all.

Portside Assisted Living is exactly the warm and welcoming community we wanted for our mom. The facility is clean and well-maintained with cheerful gathering spaces that encourage connection and activity. But what truly sets it apart is the attentive and compassionate staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt reassured knowing my mom would be in caring and capable hands. Their dedication and kindness make all the difference. Highly recommend.

Love living in beautiful Portside at Grande Dunes independent living. Easy to make friends and join in so many activities. I can be as busy each day as I wish. Beautiful apartment is a quiet haven for reading, watching television, recharging my energy, and well being. Staff is friendly and very helpful. I agree with one of my friends here: We live in a palace.

My mom found her new home at Portside and she couldn't have been happier. The building and grounds are beautiful, new, clean, and well maintained. Her apartment has everything you would need including a kitchen island, balcony, walk in closet. The food is excellent, staff is wonderful and there are plenty of fun activities to keep her busy. Most importantly, the other residents are all so friendly and welcoming and everyone helps each other out. Knowing my mom is in a place like this gives me peace of mind.
