Our experience would give a rating of 0 stars but in order to proceed I had to select 1. Do not send your loved one to this facility, specifically, if you are a minority of any kind. The administrative team (upper management) does not care and my many weeks worth of correspondence is proof of such. This place did not provide the level of care necessary for my loved one. They simply don’t care enough about the individual’s needs to ensure that all pieces and parts are working together. Due to neglect my loved one has incurred an infection of which hospitalization was required. There were several issues that I brought to their attention that they failed to address from upper management on down. I would go so far to say negligence is the best way to describe our experience at this facility. I would strongly suggest if you are a present family member who is actively involved that you make another choice because if you don’t stay asking questions and babysitting your loved one he/she will not receive the care that they need and deserve! Our loved one needed support and was not self sufficient so the family had to rely on their guidance which was minimal. I have been to other facilities in northeast Ohio and this is the only one that was horrible enough for me to write a review on. I am also contacting the state about our horrible experience here. If you select this place proceed with extreme caution.

The management, nurses, aides and therapists were all very caring, respectful and supportive to my wife’s needs during her rehabilitation. They increased her physical capabilities while rehabbing and made sure that she was safe in all activities she participated in. All of our friends and relatives were impressed with the care she was receiving. I would recommend Pleasant Lake Villa to anyone looking for rehabilitation care.

Please do not send your family member here. Food is beyond garbage and almost always cold and vile if you get it at all. Expect long wait times for meds, potty help or basic care. They will not write on the board who the caregivers are and if you complain they will once and then never again. If you have a tv that doesn't work or a bed that is tilted good luck getting it fixed. Got a comforter, you are lucky, it will disappear. They will arrange doctor care without even checking if that doctor does that body part. They will cancel appointments and not tell you because they do not have transport. They will discharge but not have anything ready and call you 5 hours later wondering where your senior is in the midst of a snow storm. There are nurses who openly say they will act dumb for their next job so they can do less. There is no privacy, no true care, no compassion, nothing worthy of good, decent people in the sunset of their life. This is not the place to send your people and shame on Parma Hospital for having them on their list.

I needed to go to a rehab facility after a bad fall at home. I’m so happy that I chose Pleasant Lake Villa. The nurses and caregivers are great. They were kind, caring and helpful. Everyone wanted to see you regain your health and abilities, and worked as a team to make sure that happened. The food was good, nutritious and healthy. Everyone works very hard at this facility, I joked with one of the aides that she should wear a pedometer to see how many miles per shift she walked. There is a large staff of therapists and a large room for them to work with you. I can even say that the maintenance staff and housekeeping also do a really good job. Just a quick piece of advice, the “magic words” we all learned as children still work very well here. Please and thank you and learning your caregivers’ names is very important!
