Incredibly unsafe, especially for women. High staff turnover (5 directors, 3 head chefs, and 2 maintenance directors in the same 6 months, for example). Creative bookkeeping that overcharges monthly and keeps refunds to former residents. Management plays a lot of games and treats residents like children. There are a lot of new facilities close by that many longtime residents have fled to. Moldy, termite and roach-filled buildings.

A letter to the Executive Director: I wanted to commend two of your outstanding staff members: Cecily and Laila . I hosted an event yesterday (Celebration of Life) in honor of my late "aunt", Gladys. I spoke with Cecily quite a bit beforehand, with many questions. She addressed all my concerns, and answered all my questions. I know she is very busy, as I have seen her "in action" when I visit my mother . She is in charge of many events, and it seems like she always has someone trailing her, with questions. She is good natured, friendly and helpful. I had never had the chance to meet her assistant, Laila until yesterday. What a pleasure she is! She had set up the room long before I got there and made herself available if I needed anything. It turns out I DID need a few utensils, and she provided them. Together, they made the event very easy to put on. Both women are a pleasure to work with and I can see why they are so popular with residents and their families. They are exemplary employees and perfect to represent Palm Court! As I have told you before, there are larger, fancier, trendier places than Palm Court that can be found. I've seen them and their advertising but Palm Court has a warmness and dedicated employees that really make it a "home". My mother has lived there for 10 years this month, and Gladys was just shy of that. (She followed my parents into Palm Court). Many of the employees have been there the duration of this time (or longer). That makes my mother and the other residents feel secure and well cared for. I imagine a heavy turnover would be disconcerting for these seniors, who love familiarity. I know my mother and Gladys simply thrive in this atmosphere. So do the other seniors! I saw a happy and harmonious group celebrating their late friend's life. It truly left me with a warm glow. I don't want to detract from Cecily and Laila, so I won't attempt to name any of the wonderful staff......I'm sure you know who they are. Kudos to Cecily and Laila, for doing their jobs so well. Palm Court is made special by the attentiveness of the employees. They each show genuine pride to work there, and to be an example of the best they can be. It truly is like a "family" and that's what keeps the residents so happy and feeling cared for . Best, Ellen Chris

We looked at several senior facilities for mom in the area. You'll find more upscale places but Palm Court really has a nice vibe and quality staff on site. Nasi is the person in sales we dealt with and couldn't have been more professional and helpful to our family. The rooms/facilities & activities offered make this a good choice. The hallways could use some new carpet (they told me it's going to happen in the coming months) but all in all, I was very impressed with what Palm Court has to offer.

My mom lived here for a couple years until she passed. The living quarters and common areas are very nice. Food in the dining room was very good. We ate as guests several times and found it appetizing. There seems to be an excellent relationship and camaraderie among the residents. Staff were always professional. My mother was initially reticent about leaving home, but all of the activities, and social gatherings put her at ease. It turned out to be much better for her than having attendants help her out at home 24/7. We tried that route and it didn't go well.
