Oliver Woods is a wonderful community that truly cares about the well-being of its residents. What makes this community stand out, however, is its Executive Director, Carla. Carla is actively involved in the day-to-day life of the community. She knows every resident by name, takes the time to know their families, and is always available to help in any way she can. She leads with integrity, professionalism, and a genuine passion for serving older adults and their loved ones. I have personally witnessed Carla go above and beyond—even spending her own money—to make sure a resident had what they needed. What impresses me most is that she never seeks recognition for these acts of kindness. She leads with humility, quietly doing the right thing simply because she cares. That kind of leadership is rare. Oliver Woods is incredibly fortunate to have Carla at the helm. Her compassion, dedication, and selfless leadership create a culture that is felt by every resident, every family, and every member of the staff. She is a true blessing to this community.

Staff is caring, compassionate and always treats the residents with kindness and respect. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable, safe, and valued. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has a welcoming atmosphere. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents engaged. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and supportive assisted living community.

I first experienced Oliver Woods some 25 years ago when my father moved in there. It was still a fairly new facility, but I could see right away that it was worlds above other similar facilities. They took such good care of Dad during his final years that I have visited there weekly for 20 years for games, music, prayer, and special events. The residents are happy and well cared for. The staff is courteous and welcoming. There are many activities to keep people sharp and engaged. They have gone through quite a few administrators in recent years, but the overall quality remains high. Recommended for yourself or your loved ones.

My son's perspective was exactly as described as to the negligence of his grandmother's care. At 101 years old she slept on the floor all night after signaling for help numerous times. She was also left to sleep upright in her chair all night with drenched briefs. She was in very sound mind until 2 days before her death. Her oxygen hose was most often kinked. Her water canister in her oxygen machine was quite often empty. I told staff and they told me they were never trained with these things. I taught them. Not my responsibility to train staff there. She asked to be included in numerous activities and was left behind. It is a beautiful facility with a lot of potential but with the high staff turnover, lack of teaching and training, poor management, definitely not a place I recommend. There are a couple very kind people that work there but the majority doesn't have a clue. Fact: I was demanded to remove her belongings early because Carla already rented out the apartment. Fact: 2 pieces of antique furniture were stolen. Staffing afraid to speak up for fear of losing their job. Carla is doing nothing to encourage their return. I offered a no questions asked reward but Carla shows no concern or help with the return of family heirlooms. Her comment was I shouldn't have brought them there. In our loved ones last chapter we want them to be surrounded by special items and loved ones. Now she is gone and so are the family heirlooms. Not a place to trust with our loved ones last chapter. I have lots of photos and tons of texts to prove all of the problems. Per your reply: 1) an apology is in order for your negligence and lack of training. 2) I will appreciate the return of our items. 3) rather than go blah blah blah will someone please take responsibility and learn from these mistakes to teach, train and improve care for current and future residents? These elderly loved ones deserve proper care that we entrust you with and pay for. That's the entire intent. To make loved ones aware. Plans of a better future would have been a better approach. I will later post texts and photos. It's a paper trail of neglect.
