Oakwood Senior Living is Knoxville, Tennessee’s leading Assisted Living and Memory Care community. Originally built in 1914 as an elementary school, our senior living community is conveniently located in the heart of the Oakwood neighborhood.

Last summer we needed a place for my sister, and Oakwood Senior Living was our answer. I’ve always had a terrible fear of the thought of putting a family member in a facility. The first time I walked through the door at Oakwood, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The place is amazingly beautiful!!! I was instantly greeted by one of the employees asking if I needed help with anything. From that moment on, I knew my sister was in the right place. Every single employee, regardless of what department they work, greets you with a smile and speaks every time. The professional staff/employees genuinely care about the residents and gets to know them on a personal level. There has never been a single request denied if my sister needed anything. If anything, the are proactive, ahead of the game. The place is clean and decorated so beautiful. It reminds me of a “high end” hotel. I could go on and on about Oakwood, so I will end with this. My mother stayed here for a respite stay and I must say that I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Maintenance Director and the entire Care staff. The Maintenance Director is truly exceptional—always professional, responsive, and proactive. Issues are addressed quickly and thoroughly, often before they even become problems. It’s clear they take immense pride in their work and in keeping the environment safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. The Care staff are equally outstanding. They are compassionate, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels respected, supported, and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, patience, and dedication show in every interaction. Together, the Maintenance and Care teams create a warm, dependable, and welcoming environment, and their hard work does not go unnoticed. I am incredibly grateful for everything they do and highly recommend this team without hesitation.

This place is amazing!!! I'm a CNA that's been to about every place in the area for 1 reason or another and this is THE ONLY place I would consider if/when the time comes that I could no longer care for my mama. The gentleman I've cared for over 10 yrs recently became a resident and the level of care, thoughtfulness, kindness and understanding goes beyond expectations. I've waited close to 2 months before writing this review because I was sure it was all just a show to get us in the door but it's real and authentic. RJ takes my request and I know whatever I needed will be taken care of ASAP. The caregivers, Tan, EJ and others are top tier, even housekeeping goes above and beyond basic requirements. They truly put the dream team together and created a wonderful place where you know you're loved ones are taken care of. I could continue this review but I think I've got the point across lol WE LOVE IT HERE!!!

I've been utilizing Oakwood Senior Living for almost 8 years for my mother-in-law and must say that the management in my opinion is excellent. They have always been willing to work with us to provide the perfect care which we all ultimately want for our family members. Jody the Director of this facility and RJ Russell especially come to mind as caring and compassionate people who go the extra mile to make sure that care and attention is accomplished. It's always a difficult situation to put a loved one in a care facility as there's always the concern that you're not doing the right thing, however in the case of Oakwood Senior living, it is our experience that we made a good decision.
