Monarch Landing community has met my needs over and above expectation. With various floor plans to choose from, my apartment selection process was easy. I find Monarch to be a vibrant, active community, committees to serve on giving feedback to management, various clubs where I share and expand my interest with others. Management listens to committee suggestions, in filling requests and needs of residents. My home!

Twelve years ago when we saw the sign outside of the door to our apartment saying, “Welcome home David and Jean” those few words captured the feeling we had. We still have that feeling today. We have loved our home in Chicago’s suburbs for 36 years, but Monarch Landing immediately felt like we belonged. David no longer stood guard over the sumb pump in the basement during our power failures and said good-bye to mowing the lawn and cleaning the snow from the driveway. Jean loved the kitchen layout and she had a hand in design designing, and immediately signed up for yoga. Five months later, Jean was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, and we thanked our lucky stars for no stairs to climb, and the prepared meals we could pick up and eat at home. We could go on and on about the things we love about Monarch Landing, but we will keep it short and say that the thing we value most is our new friendships we have developed. We knew no one here when we moved in, but soon had new friends who we count among the best we’ve ever had. This is a really great place to live. At this stage of our senior life, Monarch Landing was the best choice to make for our living and health needs. We have peace of mind with our safety and we still have our independence, which is important. We’ve made friends that have enriched our experience here. Our living arrangements are perfect since they had many options to choose from. The activities are varied, we’re never bored. They’re considerate of dietary needs and keep aware of foods that keep residents healthy. The Dining Room and Cafe are fine examples of that. We have many positives to share but we’ll run out of room. Overall, Monarch is a fine example of living an independent life in a first rate manner.

We landed at Monarch Landing five months ago. We’re very satisfied with our decision. Moving was quite a challenge after living the last 35 years in a four bedroom home in Lisle. Last night was nostalgic, we hosted three couples from our neighborhood for dinner. They wanted to know all about Monarch Landing and we were proud to show them around and tell them about our experience. What we love most about our new home is the friendliness of the residence and staff, the beauty of the environment, access to the Prairie path, the swimming pool and delicious meals. The move was made much easier because we contracted with “Downsizing By Design“ to layout our floor plan, decide what furniture to take and pack up everything. Then, on the day of our move, they unpacked all of our boxes, organized the kitchen and the bathrooms and even made our bed. We were able to customize our apartment, turning a two bedroom, two bath apartment into a one bedroom, 1 1/2 bath apartment Thereby gaining a much larger living room/study and extra storage in the hallway bathroom originally occupied by a bathtub. Now we’re feeling pretty settled, but still finding new things to do and places to go. There’s so much of interest here!
