My mom has been living at Merrill Gardens at Sherwood for about 10 months. After an extended period of time caring for our ailing father before he died, she had neglected taking care of herself and was having some health issues (including some cognitive changes). My brother and I suggested looking at retirement places. She absolutely would not entertain the prospect! After forcing her to visit several places and getting nowhere, we visited Merril Gardens. From the moment we walked in the front door, we could tell there was a different vibe to the place. Residents were all over, and they were friendly and welcoming. The sales team did a great job of treating her like a person. The nursing team was very helpful in explaining to us how care and services would work for her needs. Since she has moved in, there have been a few minor hiccups (missed a week of housekeeping, meal service took longer than anticipated). Annoying but minor, and there are also a hundred other family's the staff are dealing with. The managers have always been responsive and receptive about and addressing concerns. Compared to the experiences some of my friends share about their parents and having to move somewhere, we feel very fortunate that Mom is in a place where she is safe and secure and happy.

Choosing an assisted living facility for a loved one is never easy, but Merrill Gardens at Sherwood made the process feel much more comfortable. The staff are caring, attentive, and truly treat residents with kindness and respect. The community is clean, welcoming, and offers a warm environment that feels like home. We especially appreciated the communication, activities, and genuine care shown to residents. Knowing our loved one was safe, supported, and well cared for brought our family peace of mind. Highly recommend.

Merrill Gardens at Sherwood has been wonderful. The community is bright, welcoming, and incredibly well‑run, but it’s the people who make it exceptional. The staff are consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in the residents’ well‑being. One of the biggest highlights has been the full‑time fitness trainer. The personalized mobility work and daily encouragement have made a noticeable difference in strength, confidence, and overall quality of life for our dad. It’s rare to find a senior living community that prioritizes wellness at this level. Highly recommend Merrill Gardens at Sherwood.

My kids picked out this location for me while I was living in Arizona. The area is rural enough to let you enjoy the scenic view out my apartment window. When I walked in the first time, it was bright and welcoming. The staff welcomed me and answered any questions I had. I enjoy all the different choices offered in activities. Such as: Watercolor Painting, World Affairs, Community Gardening, Scenic drives, and outings to lunch and events. On Friday there is live entertainment. The guest music artist come to perform for us and we I enjoy a glass of wine and listen with my friends. The staff are very accommodating, cheerful and helpful. I have enjoyed living at Merrill Gardens of Sherwood
