McCarthy Court

I am the POA for a sweet family friend. We brought her here to take a look after selling her home. Everything looked amazing, the activities, the restaurant dining, the people, and the complex was beautiful. After signing a lease for a one bedroom, 1 bath apartment, 2 months later her rent increased by almost $300! The food went completely downhill. Many offerings were cut and most of the time the kitchen is out of many items such as potatoes, milk, desserts, eggs, etc. These are things that should be staples. And, there is only one meal per day in independent living. Shortly after that, the facility was sold to Terra Bella. The food situation seems to be getting even worse with 2.5 hr long dinners, untrained staff, and very little food. The people at McCarthy are amazing, however they need training. This place is very expensive and the residents deserve better. My 2 star review is solely based on the cost of living and food quality. Our seniors deserve better!

I am forced to tell you that your dining room staff has made our dining experience a superlative experience. None of the staff is ever unpleasant but continually friendly, and courteous. Very frequently they inquire about helping us as well. They extend themselves in our behalf continuously. Please let them know that they help to make living in McCarthy a pleasure.

Received from Rudi 2/2/2026 I am nearly 95 years old. After all I have endured I wonder why I’m still here. I believe it’s because of my life at McCarthy Court; an independent living community. I am convinced that my longevity has been made possible because of the wonderful, supportive, caring, and extremely friendly staff and environment. I cannot thank them enough for the years of honesty, love and care that I have enjoyed all these years.

I'm a resident of almost eight years. It's the best place around here. Everybody is friendly, both residents and staff. Nothing is perfect, but I'm satisfied to live here for the rest of my life.
