Mariella of Lake Orion

My mother lived here for about six months as she recovered from a brain surgery. We weren't sure if it would be a temporary stay or something longer, and the staff was very accommodating around this. Mariella was a perfect balance of independence and care for my mother. She raved about the food and knew she could always count on the staff to help her when she needed it. We also liked that it is a smaller community so that she felt like a part of a family rather than just a patient number. Everyone greeted her by name and she made several friends with the other residents. The rooms were spacious and common areas lovely and well maintained. Though she is back home again, I would definitely recommend Mariella and will keep it in mind should we need assisted living care in the future.

Our family has been very pleased with the care of my mom. The management team has been attentive to our requests especially when she recently had a set back and her care plan and medications needed adjustment. The care team is always very sweet to her. She looks forward to the live entertainment and the family parties too. Thank you, Mariella, for taking good care of our mom!

I can’t say enough about the love and care the staff has shown my mom. Each one of them go out their way to make sure her needs are met. Kim and Betsy do such an amazing job with the planning and implementation of all the activities making sure each resident is included. Corey and Shane work extremely hard with the staff to make sure the residents needs are met. The care staff is amazing, so kind and always willing to help. The quality of food is wonderful. Chef James is creative and a good cook offering such a great variety of meals. Finally, the kitchen staff and servers are so patient and kind when interacting with the residents.

My family and I can’t say enough good things about Mariella of Lake Orion. When it came time to help my mom find a place where she could have both support and independence, we visited several communities, but Mariella immediately stood out. It’s smaller than many of the big corporate places, and that’s exactly what we wanted — it feels like a true home, not a facility. The staff are consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely seem to know each resident as a person. They go out of their way to make sure Mom stays engaged and comfortable, and they’ve been great about communicating with our family. The building itself is clean, bright, and welcoming, and there’s a noticeable sense of calm when you walk in. Choosing Mariella has brought our whole family peace of mind. We know Mom is safe, cared for, and surrounded by people who treat her with respect and compassion. Highly recommend taking a tour if you’re considering assisted living in the area — it really is something special.
