My mother lived in the memory care facility for 2 1/2 years. She was completely blind. The staff treated her with tremendous respect: introducing themselves at every turn, ensuring she knew what the next part of the day held and ensuring that she had as much agency as possible - from how she bathed herself to what she ate at every meal. I sat with her during her dinner time most days and became friendly with the staff members. They were each and every one caring and thoughtful with how they treated each resident - responding to their needs and changing how each resident was cared for as their needs changed.

I recently toured Marbella San Jose with Mina Gill while helping a client and their family search for a senior living community.
