UPDATE 11/17/25 - I am very pleased to report that I was contacted by Lighthouse Point Upper Management shortly after my initial review was posted. They have been extremely understanding, responsive and have made truly significant changes to their food service. They took my concerns seriously, sought continued feedback over time and I can now report that all of the problems I mentioned in my initial post have been resolved. My Mother and the other residents have been very pleased with their efforts and the new food offerings. Due to a change in my Mother's health, they have also added gluten-free offerings to their menu. I am very appreciative of their commitment to improve! A job well-done. AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2025 - While this facility and the staff are very nice, ever since it has not been owned by UPMC, the food has been TERRIBLE!! They CONSISTENTLY RUN OUT OF FOOD despite tiny portions, the food does not match what is stated on the printed monthly menu and the quality and nutritional value of the food is poor. The facility has been promising for MONTHS that this would improve and it has not. I am starting to look for alternative living arrangements for my Mother. It's such a crying shame...

Update November 2025 : The management of Lighthouse Point has contacted me and has worked diligently to improve the food! They have a real time feedback system in place to provide residents the ability to comment, There are also in person meetings with the residents to share their feedback in person. Both the quality and quantity of the food service is much better. During this time, our family member developed essential health related dietary needs. The chef and Lighthouse management learned about the dietary requirements and are providing gluten free options. They were very understanding and attentive and communicate with us regularly as needed, We are very pleased with their efforts and response to make Lighthouse Point the home that residents and their families expect. The management at Lighthouse also encourages us as family members to keep in touch to ensure that changes and improvements continue. Thank you for a job well done! August 2025 Lighthouse Pointe at Chapel Harbor is a lovely facility. The staff are friendly and helpful with ONE HUGE EXCEPTION. Since being taken over by Oakdale Senior Alliance, the food is disgraceful!! (Previously, this was a hospital based facility and the food was very good.)Since getting Metz Culinary as the food supplier, the food has continued to deteriorate. Portions have been cut, they often run out of specified entrees, and the texture of the meats are difficult for residents to chew even with good teeth. The servers fuss about assignments in front of residents!! What kind of company is Metz??? And WHY isn’t Oakdale supervising that contract? This situation has to change. We are not happy. Seniors in a community as expensive as this deserve and should expect good food. It is vital for their health and overall well being!!

My father in law has had an apartment at Lighthouse Point for 2 years. The staff is very competent, kind and caring. The meals are varied and tasty, served in a beautiful dining room. The building and grounds are beautiful and very comfortable. As I tell him, anyone would be lucky to live there !
