In our Connection Points Neighborhood, we know that memory loss doesn’t diminish the beauty, worth, or uniqueness of a person. That’s why our approach to memory care is centered around what matters most: connection, dignity, and love. We take the time to truly know your loved one—their story, their routines, their joys—so that every moment of care honors who they are. Our team builds deep relationships, providing not just support, but companionship, laughter, and a sense of belonging. This isn’t just a place to be safe—it’s a place to feel seen, known, and valued. We believe in walking this journey with you, not just beside your loved one but beside you as well. You’re not alone here. Whether it’s sharing memories, asking questions, or simply needing a listening ear, we’re here to walk with your family every step of the way. Because when care is rooted in connection, healing and peace are possible—even in the most tender seasons of life.

The facility is nice, and everything they promised sounded just like what we wanted for my parents; however, after three months they have continued to not fulfill those promises. My parents have been in assisted living, yet staff has not been responsive to their needs, and has not notified us of falls, refusal of medicine, and other incidents that we should have been alerted to per Independence Village protocol. My father now needs to be moved to memory care. We had over an hour meeting with staff and corporate from Independence Village to make those arrangements. They said it was arranged, but after 7 hours waiting to get admitted to Geri-care, with no support or response to repeated calls and texts to staff at Independence Village, he is still waiting…at 11:45 PM! Independence Village is understaffed, and unresponsive…but happy to take your money! With more staffing and a better commitment to residences, it might be a great place; however, I currently cannot recommend them.

I consistently get disappointed by the memory care in Independence Village. I have a plethora of complaints, but beating a dead horse doesn’t help anyone. This weekend I visited my mom who was sick (diarrhea and vomiting). Saturday at 6:00 PM I visited her. She was sleeping in feces. I asked the caregivers to help change her bed and clean her bathroom, as her trash can was filled with feces. They bagged her sheets and told us they would clean the bathroom and do her laundry that night. Come Sunday at 2:00 PM, the dirty laundry was still there and the bathroom was still a mess. The caregivers Saturday night were on their phone for the majority of the time I was there. There was even a resident sleeping at a kitchen table resting his head on another chair right in front of them sitting there! Hopefully WELL or StoryPoint have chatmeter as this community needs a lot of help. You can’t charge the highest rent and care in the market and provide subpar service. Completely unacceptable. They are slowly fixing their operation by bringing Jasmine from corporate in, but there is still a lot of work to be done. I hope to be able to change this 2 star to a 5 star, pending real, tangible operational change.

Mom has been at Independence Village for 4 years and considers everyone family. I couldn't be more pleased with the way she is loved and cared for.
