I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff of Holbrook. My mother lived here for almost a year before she passed and during her time there had some health challenges. Her kind caregivers (a special shout out to CeCe, Kiya and Bella) showed great compassion as she navigated those last few weeks. The facilities are beautiful, and everyone there from the director to the sweet ladies at the front desk knew my mother and worked to make her time there special. The activities director Diana was also great- so much energy and there were always activities or outings going on. If you are starting to research assisted living or memory care for your loved ones, reach out to Joy from Holbrook in Sugar Hill. You will not be sorry!

Written November 2025: Regrettably, I need to lower my rating of this facility, having been there for over a year. We have been very disappointed with several aspects of the facility of late. First and foremost, they implemented a new "Vitality" fee for every resident who does not utilize any additional services above and beyond the basics of Rent and Housekeeping. Essentially, anyone who does not require additional services must pay more to opt out of those services. Unfortunately, they don't see these residents as an asset to them and as residents that they don't have to focus their attentions on (ultimately saving them $). Furthermore, they didn't even inform residents of this fee prior to them opening their bills for the new year. They also did not provide any justification for the "Vitality Fee," and it is not minimal! This facility was already one of the highest-priced facilities, if not THE highest-priced in the county. Now, in addition to the $300/month increase in basic cost, they have added $300/month Vitality Fee. That is an additional $600/month!! That is outrageous. Rates had already gone up in 2025, but instead of services improving, they have deteriorated. The facility has been through several chefs, and the service is very, very slow. They have not figured out how to handle the crowd. They tried forcing residents to eat in two shifts, but the staff didn't like that because it extended their hours, and the residents didn't like being restricted from eating with their friends. The quality of the meals has gone down steadily as well. The meals are often not healthy, and the vegetables are rarely varied. Parking is also an increasing problem. The facility did not prepare for the number of residents who would still be driving, and there are often no parking spaces available for the residents. There are only about 10 spots near the facility entrance, and the rest are all the way in the back. People like my mom (Vitality) can walk all the way to the back, but when she has packages, it is much more difficult. But, oftentimes, there aren't even spots in the back. Visitors have an even harder time. Especially if there is a staff meeting or event with additional visitors. Most of the staff are still very pleasant, and the facility itself is still very clean and appealing. The activities directors, maintenance, housekeeping, and desk staff are particularly pleasant and receptive to ideas and requests. I hope that if we are still at this facility in a year, I will be able to update this review again and bring the rating back up to my original 5 stars. Written Jan 2025: All of the staff at Holbrook are so warm and friendly! They really make an effort to ensure all of their residents enjoy living there. My mom has been there for 9 months and truly thinks of all of the staff as her extended family. She has made new friends and she enjoys going on the field trips to special events. The facility is very clean and always welcoming with seasonal decor. Whenever there is a problem or concern, the staff make every effort to make adjustments and correct the problem. I'm thankful to all of the staff at Holbrook, but especially to Amanda, Jessica and Gaye. They made the adjustment especially smooth! Thanks for all you do Holbrook!

We can’t say enough about how incredibly happy we are with the team at Holbrook and the facility. The accommodations are excellent and the staff goes above and beyond. Joy Faircloth and Erin Moore have been nothing short of AMAZING throughout the entire process! The entire staff are all wonderful, truly love what they’re doing and truly care about the residents. Special thanks to everyone. You all could not have made the process easier or made our parents any happier! You guys rock!

I want to thank the entire staff of Holbrook Sugar Hill for their compassion, professionalism, and assistance when my mother in law Betty passed away after just a short time enjoying your facility. You truly made us feel comfortable during a time of grief. Laura and I are grateful for everyone there. We still enjoy visiting you. You will forever be in our hearts.
