I’ve had a really positive experience with Hathaway Hills Assisted Living & Memory Care. The staff are incredibly kind and genuinely care about the residents, which makes a huge difference. The building is always clean, safe, and has a really comfortable, home-like feel instead of feeling like a hospital. They also offer a lot of activities, so residents stay engaged and don’t feel bored or isolated. One thing that really stands out is how they handle memory care. The staff are patient and trained to work with people who have Alzheimer’s or dementia, and they make sure everyone feels respected and supported. The food is good, and they offer helpful services like housekeeping, transportation, and even a salon, which makes daily life easier and more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a welcoming place with a strong sense of community, and you can tell they truly care about the people who live there. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and supportive environment for a loved one.

When we first moved my mother into Hathaway Hills we were very happy. I think at the time I even left a 5 star review! It all went downhill after Leslie left. The majority of the staff was good, we did have some petty theft happening while she was there. She did suffer one bad fall that never should’ve happened while the staff was caring for her. She had the smallest room in the place, which was the size of a postage stamp. It worked for her since she’s blind, but they kept hiking the price up over and over and over again as well as her level of care price. The BEST thing we ever did was move her to an assisted living in Cedar Springs where she has a living room and separate bedroom for $1,700 less per month (that was the price difference when she moved, I’m sure it would be A LOT higher now!) Hathaway Hills is ALL about the money! When you tell them you’re moving be prepared to continue to pay for the room well after vacate (read your contract!) and then they might even hit you with replacing the carpeting like they did us. Do yourself a HUGE favor and look elsewhere for your loved one. Best decision we ever made was to make the move out of here.

The staff are amazing—very friendly, patient, and always willing to go the extra mile to make residents feel comfortable and valued. You can tell they truly care about what they do. The facility itself is very clean and well-maintained, and it has a warm, home-like atmosphere that makes it feel welcoming right away. They also do a great job keeping residents active with fun daily activities and social events, which really helps with overall happiness and well-being. Their memory care program is especially impressive. The staff are understanding and trained to handle different needs, and they create a safe environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity at all times. Overall, it’s a great place with a strong community feel, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. I've been reading the comments about how they have "other priorities" due to a fee. They still need to follow procedures and the staff mourn their deaths too. They take amazing care of the people in living. With that being said, I believe this place needs more recognition for their outstanding care rather than some "fee" that they charge.
