Garden Place is a great facility! It is bright and clean. The staff are all wonderful…friendly, helpful, and kind. The dining area is very nice (though a bit too loud especially for elderly who may have hearing loss…suggest sound absorbing panels for the comfort of the residents and guests perhaps?) and the staff do their very best to serve meals in a timely manner. They offer a wide variety of meals and also have an ala carte menu as well. My dad raves about many of the meals and desserts! The chef does a great job!! And Kathy is a fan favorite with her fantastic sense of humor…she makes the meals very upbeat! All the staff do a great job greeting everyone with smiles and kindness. The activities scheduled are also widely varied. The amount of effort Becky puts into it is incredible! She just lights up the room!! They offer many opportunities to include family members as well which is wonderful! Again, the staff are so friendly and cheerful you can’t help but be uplifted and enjoy the festivities! I always leave with a smile on my face! My dad is receiving therapy services as well which is so very helpful to have such services on site! The therapists do a great job and are also very cheerful and encouraging!! It’s a great bonus having that opportunity under the same roof! The aides are very good about responding to an alert from a resident. They are conscientious about making sure the meds are given out and other needs are met by the resident. If something is overlooked, the front office staff are very approachable, accommodating and understanding. The office is run very smoothly and efficiently from moving day to receiving the monthly bill. Emails announcing events are timely and informative. The daily Facebook posts are wonderful for family members and it’s always fun to search for your loved one on those posts! My dad has a lovely 2 bedroom apartment with a great view. It is perfect for his needs. He is located a bit further away from the activity room which deters him from attending some of the activities. There are two common spaces near him that can be used by families which is very nice. My family and dad have played cards there which was so fun!! I’m hoping in time there could be a few activities down in this area…even if it’s just a puzzle table that a few people could work on together. We are looking forward to fishing in the pond on the property…especially once the dock area has been renovated! And we will enjoy the outdoor courtyard once the weather warms up.! I’m quite sure the great-grandchildren will love all that open space to run and play! Overall, we love Garden Place!!!! Everyone is so welcoming and genuinely care about their community and it shows!! It’s been an easy transition for my dad and he’s made some friends and really enjoys joking around with his peers and the staff! I would highly recommend Garden Place for your loved one!!

My 101-year-old father really enjoys Garden Place Columbia! He likes everyone on the staff. He likes the meals. I cannot imagine a better environment. For his 101st birthday, the staff put on the nicest birthday celebration. The staff came up with a very clever gift. ...actually, two clever gifts. Totally FIVE STARS!

My 93 yr old father moved in here the end of June. I was really reluctant to place him into the hands of complete strangers but my dad’s brother had lived here for a year and he assured me that he loved it and they take very good care of him so that was my deciding factor. I have not been dissatisfied or disappointed in the 3 weeks he’s been here! Everyone on staff is friendly, caring and capable! Shout out to Shontae and her girls! Plus all the other caregivers here! They keep me up to date on what’s going on with my dad every time I come by which I really appreciate! This place is kept very clean and even smells good. I love that they have quality entertainment and outings for the residents on a regular basis. Plus Dad says the food is really good! All in all I’m happy I chose this place and highly recommend it!

My dad moved into Garden Place Assisted Living in Columbia Il. After losing my Mom 4 yrs ago after being married 60 yrs was a difficult change for him and having onset dementia was challenging. I found this facility after touring quite a few. This place had everything he needed. It is clean, has delicious food, entertainment (he danced again after so many years), a wonder sweet staff of girls that dot on him and he even has his sweet pup Peaches which was very important to him. Today he is thriving all because he has nourishing meals every day, things to do and people who care about him. My anxiety has dropped tremendously knowing he's well cared for! I can't be more happy!
