I’ve been visiting my mom at Essex Meadows for the past few days, enjoying some of what she loves here… Walking paths with access to extensive Essex Land Trust trail system... A few cherry tomatoes from her community garden bed... Napping with the cat on the screened-in porch… Varied, tasty dinner menu with daily specials and attention to special requests… Lovely, landscaped grounds for a relaxed evening stroll. I have to say I’m jealous of the lifestyle!

Essex Meadows is a very special place and I feel very fortunate to be living here. I’ve been here for three years and I’ve enjoyed making so many congenial new friends. There are opportunities to be on committees, participate in exercise classes and join fellow residents for meals. Additionally, I find it very comforting to know medical assistance is always available. The staff in all aspects of Essex Meadows is outstanding in every way. My apartment is perfect with lots of light and very spacious. I’m lucky to be here!

I like the comfortable environment and positive nature of people at Essex Meadows. A few of my favorite activities are the winter walks on trails of the property and adjoining preserve; swimming in our indoor salt-water pool; and attending weekly current events discussions led by a director who is well-prepared with challenging questions and up-to-the-minute news topics. As a relatively new resident, I find one of the best ways to get to know people is over a meal. The dinners here are delicious with lots of choices served by a great staff. Sandy M -- Resident

Essex Meadows surpasses all expectations you may have of any aspect of a retirement community. This has been my Mother's happy place for 18 years where I visited regularly, and I think of it more as a luxury cruise ship. The staff (all staff) are courteous, professional and attentive. The property is meticulously maintained and fully featured. Activities of every nature (external and internal) are going on all the time. The food is outstanding, as good as any restaurant I've been to. The residents are happy, active and a joy to engage with. When needed, the health center is, by my estimation, state of the art and expertly run. If there were a sixth star for exceptional, Essex Meadows has earned it and I thank them one and all (on behalf of my Mom) for setting the bar so high.
